How to Deal with Unresponsive Social Media Advertisers?

Hey Warriors,

I'm trying to implement a marketing tactic where I use the traffic from a popular social media account to build my lists, make sales, etc.

In theory it wouldn't take much to get this started. You find a YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram account that has a considerable number of followers and clearly gets traffic, then you contact the account owner about advertising to their audience.

The only problem is that 95% of these people don't respond to my emails. I know they're open for advertisements, because I've seen their account promote links before and they feature a "business inquiries" email address in their about page or in their bios. I've contacted nearly 25 of these account owners and have gotten only a single response back. Mind you it has been roughly a week since I've contacted them and still no response.

So I'm wondering. Does this method actually work? Are their email inboxes stuffed full? Or am I just being blown off? In every email I've sent I've greeted them by their real names (if I could find it), and have asked what the going rate is for their promotion, nothing too complicated.

Has anyone tried this method before and if so how has it worked for you?

Thanks

If the person has a website you can do a WHOIS lookup on the domain and contact them directly. Unless, of course, they have a contact link or form on the site.

    Apparently not.

Methods that require reliance upon someone else are usually hit and miss. It certainly could work with the right offer and audience, but you've already put a lot of effort into it and it has eaten up your time.

I would suggest putting your effort into things that are proven to work. Sometimes those strategies are boring and plain. But at the end of the day, you have made income for your effort.

Just like many jobs out there, boring and plain, but you put in the time and you get paid.

Steve's point, I think, is clear. That said, can you set up service where the popular social persona seeks out you in order to make their following profitable? In other words, we all want to make some coin, some folks just don't know how, and that is where you enter their world.

      Let 'em find you.

Imo you're better off putting the time into building up your own account and getting followers. This way you could create more of an asset and long term structure than a one time ad.
