Fitness Niche: Continuity or Not?

Have a membership site with tons of content.

Trying to decide if I should go the recurring monthly membership route or a one off payment?

From what I see 99% of the top Clickbank or online fitness, diet programs are ONE single lifetime payment and NOT continuity.

Talking informational membership site only.

Must be a reason most diet/fitness don't use continuity.

The reason is quite simple, actually.

Getting sufficient information on how to get fit is something that doesn't require much ongoing education.

What people usually need ongoing help with is the encouragement and guidance of others, and this is usually done best in a class setting where you interact with other people, in person.

Therefore, continuity information products in that niche don't usually do as well as continuity programs like fitness clubs or gyms.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Makes sense.... thanks for the help!

I was thinking of adding the continuity in the form of ongoing support/motivation/accountability...

Well, talking about diet/fitness niche, it really depends what kind of offer you run. Personally I run diet and muscle offers (free trials ) on Instagram. The average payout is around $40 - $50. So, if you are planning to run free trial nutra offers, you will always get paid once per each conversion you bring in.

To charge a monthly fee you need to keep adding good, quality content and updating it all the time.

This is the fun part and that is we get to play with it. Maybe offer a two or three week special offer where people can sign up and get lifetime access for a one time payment and then play and see how a residual payment would work. Of course you want a residual payment but you will be working to keep your site updated unless you outsource it...

    Isn't a monthly payment a one-time payment monthly?
If one-time payments "work" best, then make your offer appeal (fit) within that framework.

    Start thinking...

There is a place for continuity. Typically, it's the hardest sell to make in your business.

I don't believe 90% of people out there should lead with it.

However, it is a very powerful thing to have in your upsell sequence or backend funnel. If you've bought products like Venus Factor they have a low-priced front-end, a $0 or $1 trial to continuity, then a few other upsells that complement the core offer.

all the top offers have continuity...but they have it as an upsell.

If you think about the fact you could still promote additional products and services to active members on occasion there really is no downside to the single payment.

You could even establish Joint Ventures with other product owners and attain a discount for your subscribers.
