What Would YOU Do With THIS?

Hi there, Warriors!

I saw an email in my inbox that made me think of what I thought would be a killer domain name. So when I went and checked it, sure enough it was available. So I grabbed it.

But now I have several different thoughts on how best to use it, and I am somewhat split as to how to best put this particular domain to use.

I normally don't grab domains on a whim, but this one?

WebMarketingRockStar.com

If you had this domain name, what would YOU do with it? I'm open to any and all suggestions for using it.

    Hello,
If I had that domain I would sit on it for about two years and then
I might get around to doing something with it.
I hope you don't do the same.

Why do you say that? Is it due to present workload? Or just an aging strategy to flip it later?

    Hello,
what I meant by it is that I would be doing the same thing that
many other people do when they buy a domain on a whim.

Is that a highly-searched term in Google? If not, then you should rethink your position. While sometimes impulse purchases work out, proceeding without a plan usually doesn't.

    Best of luck, though!

I know EXACTLY what I would do with it. But I can't tell you until probably next week.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

That was actually one of the uses I am split about and what made me pull the trigger on the purchase. But because I had already set up a domain that I use for that, I have thought about maybe using it for something else. I may still go ahead and use it for that.

After I bought it, I searched for SocialMediaRockStar.com (taken) and a few others but that was the only one of the things that came to mind that was actually available.

        1. Go to internet marketing seminars
        2. Go to bar with other attendees at night
        3. Video tape them doing karaoke
        4. Post the videos to your domain
        5. Drive traffic
        6. MONETIZE (many possibilities here)

  • i would say get rid of it if you dont have an idea of what to do with it before you bought it or you will just forget about it and it will be lost in your collection of other sites bought on a whim

I like Nat's idea. Why not use it for your own products to sell to your consulting clients? It's a catchy enough name, definitely would give you a marketing edge to clients who buy from you...the whole "I can be a web marketing rockstar" ego thing among your clients.
