Question about selling online

Good evening folks,

Been a while since I posted up in here.

I have around 60 items that are brand new in my place that i'd like to sell. Most of the items are urban wear such as Jordan sneakers and fitted hats and things like that.

Should I list these items on Ebay or is Amazon more suitable.

Also, how can I get more traffic to my listings? Can I advertise somewhere and if so where?

Thank you,
Steve

It sounds to me like you're not interested in starting a business. You just want to sell some personal items. For that, eBay would be my choice of platforms since you are only selling one of this and one of that.

Visit eBay's "Seller Central" where you will find many suggestions and ideas on how to promote and get the most out of your auctions.

    Good luck,

      Thanks Steve...

You're correct - I'm really looking to just "sell" some stuff that I have. It's all brand new and not cheap. I haven't used eBay in so long and I'd like to know if there is a way to get my items in front of more eyes.

I know that with Amazon, you can run amazon ads. Does eBay offer this now?

I actually do have my own business that I'm running. It's just not an eBay business.

      Appreciate any input.

You should sell them on eBay as with Amazon you have to go through an approval process to sell clothing items. I do both eBay and Amazon FBA, but have never used their ppc options to advertise.

Yes I also agree. Ebay is what you are looking for. Setting up an Amazon FBA business is not that complicated but it does not seem to be what you are looking to do. Also you would need Amazon's approval to see these types of products.

  • Amazon and ebay can boast your sales, otherwise you should use Adwords

Ebay would be more suitable for you. You can also advertise your things on social media especially on big networks like Facebook and Twitter to get more traffic and get better responses.

It is about what works for you. Try them both out. Nice thing about these networks is the traffic is aleady there so to speak. It's not like creating webpage from scratch. If you don't get any response or sales from these sites then you need to work on optimizing your campaigns.

If your items fall into a specific niche then list on Ebay and promote through Facebook Groups. There are plenty of people selling direct through Facebook Groups but Giving Ebay 10% can give you peace of mind when it comes to avoiding the scammers, getting paid etc.
