Price is not the issue.

The customer getting the sense of value is.

But WHO are you marketing to? What is their comfort zone for pricing? What problem are you solving for them? I know a $197/mo membership site and IMO the value there is perfectly acceptable for that price point--the problems solved by being a member and applying the information are vastly in excess of that (what is to me a) small figure.

Have you defined your ideal customer & target market? I wonder, because by considering raising or lowering pricing, you're considering scooping into different segments. And doing so comes with its own problems of marketing, pain points, and comfort zones.


Myself, I have had the most success and best revenue with one time and that's it.

I've tested 4 payments, and 2 payments, and they don't work as well. People want lower and lower monthly payment figures, and they give up. Why? Because at the lower price points, I'm attracting the wrong kind of people. With the 2-payment plan, I set the price so I was happy with the revenue from the first sale. I also only opened up one of the two sites in the program, and left the other closed until they paid for it.

In plain English, I was able to charge more and ultimately the customer and I were happier with the outcome of a single payment.
