Any problem working with two Paypal accounts?

If you and your brother have different IPs, then he will probably get an email from paypal that will warn him that someone accessed his account from a different IP address.

In other words...I don't think paypal has a problem with 2 accounts having the same IP, but they are suspicious when someone accesses their account from a different IP address than they normally use.

I think the same PC/IP?may be an issue maybe call them and asked can't hurt!

I would not chance it Kurt. Paypal could see red flags with any account on any given day so like gambling it is better to go with the low risk game.

Just a note: I doubt he'll be logging into the account often, if at all. I'm more concerned with my own IP logging into 2 Paypal accounts and then they think I have two separate accounts, which isn't allowed.

I would warn them about some potential issues that I'm not aware of.

Not to mention, calling Paypal can cause problems in itself, and after searching for 20 minutes, I didn't find a good answer to my question.

Even if I did call Paypal, I'm also of looking for actual experience from someone I may know and trust or possibly be told of some issues I may not have thought of or the Paypal rep tells me. My Paypal account is very important to me and losing it would be a disaster.

And my posting here may be of help to some folks who didn't think this may be a concern.

Out of curiosity, what would you tell an experienced marketer that may be of help?

If this helps...

I have been logging into my business account and wife's account for 15 years from the same IP and have never had any issues. I use her account to test digital delivery systems, test payment buttons, transfer funds, and occasionally I buy some stuff too.

Thanks Don...that's actual experience I was looking for. In my case though, my brother lives in another state, not in the same household, so I wonder if that would be a concern...

I'm very paranoid about my PP account. I think I may tell him to come up with another solution. I don't want him to transfer money to my PP account due to IRS/tax hassles and a I sure don't want to risk my own PP account.

That's what I was trying to explain to the OP. Paypal is aware that more than 1 person in a household may have a paypal account.

They are more suspicious when you login to 1 account from more than 1 IP address.

I seem to recall an option where you could delegate authority to someone, such as a secretary or bookkeeper, to have access to your account.

If you were listed as an authorized user on his account, and then logged into his account with your credentials for his account, might that work?

I know that doesn't address the IP issue but at the same time if they have this feature available, then surely there are people logging into a bunch of different client's accounts.

No. I access 3 paypal accounts for years with same PC, IP, browser even after I logout first account I login to second account with same tab, and have no problem at all. Sorry for my bad english

No problem at all!

I've been working with my personal PP account, my business PP account plus my mom's business PP account for around 10 years now and this has never caused me any trouble. Even moving money around, between those 3 accounts, has never been a problem.

As long as you aren't making any shady transactions, PP let's you do your business. And why wouldn't they?!

As well as my business and personal account, I also access a joint venture business I'm involved in as well as my wifes. I don't normally "jump" from one one account to another, but I have occasional, so from the jv one, log out, and then log in to my account.

Hi Kurt,

You may also look for a WIndows VPS for this purpose with remote access, in case any doubts though I believe Its clear with the the experiences that PayPal don't have issues in logging in an out of two different account unless other account is of your name only and of same type (like personal/personal or business/business) .

I don't know anyone that has 2 or more "active" Paypal accounts going at the same time, but I do know of someone who has had one of his Paypal accounts shut down and his on to his second accounts with no problems. If I remember correctly, all he pretty much did when creating his second account was change his first name to his middle name and enter new bank account information. I think he has been using his second Paypal account for at least a year now with no problems.
