Anyone here sell more Kindle books by specially formatted table of contents?

I noticed that some an increasing number of Kindle authors are playing around with their table of contents. I'm not talking about tweaking their table of content so as to trick Kindle Unlimited. I'm not talking about black hat tactics here, get that out of your head.

Instead, I'm talking about writing out table of content items like mini sales pages. I guess the idea here is when somebody's browsing through the book and they come across the table of contents, they would get so excited about particular segments of the book that they would actually be pushed to buy the book. Do you guys do this? If so, how has your results been?

There is a school of thought that your chapter titles should be created like sales letter headlines.

The idea is that you want to create enough curiosity in the reader to 'read more' that they buy the book.

Getting the balance right so as to not put potential readers off is the trick - you need to raise curiosity without coming across too salesy.

I'd give Tested Advertising Methods by John Called a read.
