Good day everyone.

I am planning to have my real estate website soon. Where can I buy a cheap domain name?
How can I protect my website from hackers?

Any suggestions to make it marketable website. I will be using my business name in my domain.

Godaddy, Netfirms, Namecheap. Go to namepros.com to look for some of the available online coupons for the domain names.

Can get a free theme from your Wordpress dashboard under appearance or go to ThemeForest.net to look for a professional looking one.

Also try Fiverr.com to look for some sellers who provide premium themes. There are also some who will help you set-up the whole website for a $5 gig.

Check out Namecheap for domain names and try to search for the coupon codes in Google before you make any purchase.

If you are talking about starting a static site and not a blog, invest some money into the design.

Hi there , Well First of all choose a very good easy to remember domain name for your real estate site then try Go Daddy.com its economical. Then you must have good contents in your website, the user experience of using the website should be good and feel good type feeling then clients or traffic would converge to your site. all the best.

Let me make sure I've got this right.

You're working in the real estate niche and your concerned about saving a buck or two on your domain name.

With that mindset, you'll go real far.

    Cheers. - Frank

While there are lots of ways to go CHEAP for domain names, I find it is not much more expensive to use my HOSTING SERVICE to go through to purchase and it make MANAGING the domains so much simpler over time. You'll thank me for this advice in two years when you have multiple domains you're managing.

I tried the cheap route at the beginning but after a few years I appreciated having all of my domains under one roof.

There is a reason your domains and hosting should be kept separate. It's not just about pricing. If your server gets hacked and your sites are all down and your account gets locked you are not going to be able to redirect those domains somewhere else.

I have actually signed up to do a real estate site for my neighbor who is in training for the next year under another realtor.

There is no such thing really as a "cheap" domain - or to say a big price difference between the different registrars. What you can do is put in registrar name + coupon or discount and you can find domains for a dollar - but can't guarantee what ever name you want will be available.

I was actually shocked at what domains were already taken for my new client. We were trying her name + realestate and it looks like a lot of realtors do that.

How can I protect my website from hackers?
Depends on what kind of site you put up. There are security measures like paid services or having someone hardcode some stuff into your site. But once it is on the web, anything can get hacked. Even the government.

Well, do your best to keep the domain name under 25 characters. Perhaps you should start with a facebook page if you don't already have one up. Then you can purchase a domain and link the domain to that facebook page. You'll have security built in and won't have to worry about hosting for a while.
