How to make your own Videos

I know all the rage now is about videos on the web, so how do I go about making videos for websites like youtube etc.. with free equipment, software etc.. on the net, and submit them? I joined Animoto.com, but you cannot take the videos once made, and upload them anyplace else on the web, any ideas or websites that might be helpful, thanks. I am short on cash, so free or cheap is the way to go right now!

Not sure what type of videos you want to make. But if you want to make videos of things happening on your computer you can use CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software.

Once you've created your videos, use TubeMogul.com to submit your video to over 20 video sharing sites (including Youtube) with the click of a button.

If your operating system is Windows you probably
already have Windows Movie Maker on your PC/laptop.
If not you can download it free... just google it.

It's simple to use and is more than adequate for
    basic video editing.

Are you looking to make screen capture videos, or webcam videos (of you talking), or both?

I use Jing Pro for screen capture videos and love it. I think it's like $15 (one-time), which is nothing for what you get. You can output to streaming (.swf) or MP4 (good for YouTube and other video sharing sites).

the new cameras out there make recording videos a snap. Just record the video and then move the file to your computer.

If the file format is not right, there is a very cool piece of software that will re-encode to whatever file format you want it in.

its called MediaCoder and its a free application. Google it.

It is sort of a generic question because you didn't say what kind of videos you wish to create. Tutorial kinds of screen capture or ones with your personal pictures or possibly you meant like an infomercial? Also depends on Windows or Mac.
Several options come to mind but it all depends on what kind of videos. However like has been mentioned you can use power point slides and load them into windows movie maker and add audio etc...then save to video file format for publishing
