How to Make Blog Invisible?

Hi all,

This may sound weird but I need to make my blog invisible to normal visitors because there is something wrong with my bonus giveaway. I need to "close" this blog temporarily. Is there a way to do this? Can somebody please show me how to do this?

    Put a blank index.html file and it will override the index.php, then when you're done just delete the HTML file. It won't be invisible, but all you'll get is a blank page.

      This will work if someone goes directly to the main url, however, if any inside pages have been indexed then they could potentially go inside your blog.

      you could temporarily disable the blog, or go offline with it and work locally. But it is a bit of a hassle, setting up a local server environment.

      Just try to solve the problem as quick as you can.

    Just find the file wp-config.php and put a comment sign before the database connection.

    Find:
    define('DB_USER...

    and make it:
    //define('DB_USER...

    This will result in the following error:
    Error establishing a database connection

    It won't do any harm and you can switch the blog on easily. To your visitors it will look like maintenance.
