What else is there to do?

Ok..

So I´m running different facebook ads throughout the week, and post relevant stuff. I´m working on my b2b email list, I´m sending out mails every now and then. I tweet, reetweet and add people on twitter. I upload the occational picture on instagram (it´s really not thaaat relevant for my business, but also I´m not great at instagram either, so that I can work on definitly) I even do some cold calling.

But still I feel like there must be more? Pinterest hasnt really taken off in my country (norway) and I doubt it will, because people here are not behind, just different mindset I guess. There are some women using it of course, but Im not sure if I wanna focus a whole lot on that.

Any suggestions? Sometimes I´m engaged with people that work with marketing and social media in big business, and I kinda wonder what are they doing that I´m not? They probably went to school for 5 years..I understand that most of what they learnt is theory and that they also need to be updated on the trends every year etc..but I´m self thought, and I just feel like I´m missing something? Am I?

SEO, content marketing, outreach, Quroa, classifieds etc ..

But for you, I would suggest look at where most of your leads and sales are coming from now and focus on improving that. Set a clear metric e.g. x leads by July 1, 2016 via Facebook ads. And work on that.

Sounds like you're doing a bit of a lot, but none of them that well. Focus in on what's working/worked well in the past.

One of the biggest lessons I learned was to automate early. For you this might mean something like Ads Espresso or Ad Roll for Facebook ads. It might mean hiring an assistant on a freelancing platform to manage your social.

    On the other hand,

If you're not making sales yet, it could be the products you're trying to sell.

      Thanks!

Yeah, I´m doing a little bit of both.

I´ve had sucess with emails up til now. We sell corporate massage to businesses with 20 or more people, so we pretty much know who our potential costumers are (about 1000 companies in our area - we might expand later) Actually got two call backs recently who read the email i sent out in may. So email definatly works..

But thats two companies out of 1000 who responded to our mail.. So we obviously need to stay in the game and be seen, so that when businesses are looking for our service they will think about us, or find us because of SEO, ads etc.

Our SEO is quite good though. We´re so lucky knowing someone at google helping us, and the competition isnt that great AND we´ve been in the game a few years. So we rank well - first page.

You are correct that I´m not doing anything particulary well. Im just doing a little of this and a little of that.

Is there any point of focusing on adwords when we rank 1st page on relevant searches?

And, could I do more with my emails? I dont wanna spam companies..but on the other hand, I have no idea who and how many that are opening the email. I should probably get a tool for that? I just send from my email at my webhosting. This is probably where I´ve failed the most..dont you think? Not having control over what happens to the emails im sending out? Which tool is best for this? Mailchimp? I just found it so overwhelming and gave up. But I should probably learn it..

Are you getting results from your current activities? That's the first question I would ask. If you not happy or really the thing to do is spend some time in these area's first and get experience on optimizing and increasing your numbers. Ideally just one of these networks alone can give you enough prospects to keep you busy during the day! If not then you need to work on getting more traffic from them.

Sounds like for the most part you're doing the basic "churn" of online marketing.

That will not reliably get you buyers until you have a huge amount of content out there, a critical mass for people to encounter.

You could send traffic to offers.

But most importantly, you need to focus on getting conversations with qualified prospects. That's what leads to sales.

And posting content doesn't do that, unfortunately.

It's easy to spin your wheels, do the churn, and think you're doing something. But that doesn't make you sales.

Go find your target market and encounter them where they are. Start conversations with them, and qualify. Do they need what you offer? That's qualification question #1.

If you get good conversations with qualified prospects, you will make sales. At first the ratio will be say 20:1, because you're new at it. But after a short while it might drop to say 10:1...and later maybe even 5:1 or 4:1.

Learn your numbers. Get those conversations. That's active selling, and that's how you make sales & revenue.

      Thanks man

But where do I start conversations with them? And how? You mean calling them? Or sending emails asking them what they need? Or interact on facebook?

        Where are they?

If they're on private forums, like carpet cleaners, go there.

If they're on LinkedIn, go there.

If they're in Facebook groups, go there.

If they're at swap meets, go there.

If they're at fitness meets, go there.

Don't expect them to come to you.

You must go meet them in their environment...interact with them...and THEN move them from that platform to your own.

Guess where corporate marketing managers are?

        IN THEIR OFFICES.

          HR people and CEO´s basically..

I´ve tried my ass off to find out where they are..and they are nowhere to be seen (in my country) They are probably at their office yes. There are no HR pages on Facebook, a couple of inactive groups on linked in..CEO´s are hiding I dont know where. Twitter is only for political stuff and on instagram there are just 1 million fitness girls.

I´m not making up excuses or anything..I know I have to find it out and deal with the realities of my environment. But its confusing

My country Norway is not very business orientated..its kinda "shameful" to do business..buuubuuu..dont try to make money or get customers. Buuuuuu. Work in government or shut up. buuuu.

What are you promoting? Do you have a website? Sorry, it's just not clear to me on what the end goal is that you are trying to achieve? If we can understand this, we can help more.

Yeah. I tried to explain it in my other post. We run a corporate massage company. Websites been up for 3 years, got good SEO, rank 1st page. End goal is to get more businesses to want corporate massage and chose us. Easy
I can add that we are allready doing good. We are top 2 in our country and one of the first to have this business model. Still a small niche though. We think it can grow a lot bigger.

But we´re doing good despite not doing ANY marketing. So all our existing customers has come due to luck, SEO ranking high in google and also because of we know someone who knows someone who knows somene..etc..

So doing good without marketing...how well can we do WITH marketing. So far a little better thanks to two call backs from the emails i sent out earlier.

Thing is, I´m just wondering what I´m missing..this is supposed to be a full time well paid job in the corporate world right? Big business hiring marketing people. And I´m sitting home doing some facebook ads, working on my email list and drinking coffee..wondering..this cant be it?

A book you may want to consider taking a look at is Traction: A start-up guide to getting customers by Gabriel Weinberg and Justin Mares.

It has some really good ideas for gaining traction from everything from ads, to SEO, to content marketing to offline events.

The other side of the coin is expand your business to groups that you're not currently servicing. What's your ideal client right now! Business of what size? What do they spend, on average, for you services. You don't have to answer those questions here, just think of ways you could potentially expand your reach.

you seem to have missed taking advantage of a huge social network that has a business orientation called Linkedin... If you're market is B2B, then Linkedin should be your top priority.

You're absolutely right. You're not going to find CEO's on Facebook or Twitter, or CFO's or CTO's or any of those corporate officers. But LinkedIn is ripe with them. If you can't find them directly on LinkedIn, use Google to find them on LinkedIn - try Googling "who are Norway's CEO's on Linkedin"

I just checked google using that those search keywords and page one has 10 links Norwegian CEO's on LinkedIn.

Think outside of the box and research some offline advertising ideas for b2b you can get really amazing ideas on how to connect more with businesses. The trick here really is to do something outside of the box don't follow the crowd or you may get drowned out by competition. Do something original and you will certainly get noticed.

Man, thats advanced...It´s going to be hard to offer corporate massage in another country! Everything from taxes, laws legal stuff and having to have to connect with massage therapists in other (english speaking countries) and then have to take the plane to brittain or the US every now and then. I dont know man

Maybe when we´re bigger and has done norway and scandinavia and wanna become the world largest corporate massage company
