Is the impact of seo reducing in the light of smo

With the growing changes in the marketing and reducing impact of search engines in comparison to social media, can we say that the image of seo is reducing in the light of smo?

Can we say this as more and more tools are sold for social promotion than search marketing, proving our point.

No, I wouldn't say that at all.

The idea is not to choose between one or the other. A smart marketer uses all the platforms he can find to promote his business and offers.

Some people choose to use social media exclusively, others choose paid advertising, others choose in-house lists, others choose solo ads, others organic search results . . . and on an on.

Use them all. Don't stress about any one. If you take a balanced approach to your marketing, individual platforms become part of the overall mix but not over emphasized so that if they ever go away you still have a marketing program.

I too agree with the point but people increasingly investing on social media. There are too many social medial tools floating across providing sharing to many other management and analytics services. But the prove of consistent share of seo is that we still get equal or more amount of people who want to get trained on SEO e.g. ( a live class on SEO and Digital Marketing by me) and work with their search engine optimization for their website.

I would also have to disagree with this. If anything, SMO is having more of an impact on news and media outlets rather than search engines. People search/discuss current events, viral videos and all that type of stuff on social media. When it comes to searching for something specific I still think people turn to search engines..
