Who are your favorite famous marketers?

Hello warriors,

My first post joining your forum. I have been involved in IM for only two months now, and I am very much enjoying the journey. Some of my favorite marketers and bloggers I have been learning from:

I Make Money Online By Telling People How I Make Money Online -John Chow
Award Winning Internet Marketing Blog - Matthew Woodward - Matt Woodward
Tim Ferriss and The 4 Hour Workweek - Tim Ferriss
GaryVaynerchuk.com - Gary V
http://creativelive.com - Chase Jarvis

Who's content do you like? I would like to hear about some of your mentors.

Thanks, Tim Owen

One of the most successful marketers (and my personal mentor) is Alex Jeffreys.

You will also learn a lot from John Thornhill if you are in the affiliate marketing space.

    Watch what these guys DO!

    All the best,

i love lots of marketers, but everytime I watch FRANK KERN, he is just on FIRE and his tactics work.

The best thing is you can buy a course from anywhere, but alot of frank kerns stuff is absolutely FREE, and that is what I love.

Not saying he is for everyone, cause he does use colorful language, and sort of a retired beach bum / surfer type. But I think that is all part of his image. People love him, because of this, cause his content is stellar.

    Hope this helps.

I agree there's loads more bad ones promoting internet marketing as some kind of magic where you wave a wand and money start flooding in rather than a lifestyle choice that requires loads of work in the initial stages.

Personally I feel the more established internet marketers need to help bring some sanity to this industry.

I don't mean any disrespect at all, but I'm curious... What exactly have you learned from John Chow?

The reason I ask, is because you're not the first person to say it. I checked out his blog a few times, and just didn't get it I guess. Seemed like there was very little substance.

I like James Scholes because he is our very owns plus he is an amazing Internet marketer.

I also follow Russel Brunson because he is the forunder of a software company with a sales funnel for it that I personally admire, he is also mentored by Dan Kennedy who i have following very tediously for months now.

I look at Dan Kennedy as the God Father really..

I follow Greg Gomez the Third because I feel in the Sales & Closing department, with I think almost twenty years working as a telemarketer, he brings a lot of experience and valuable advice into his Teachings. plus his Sales Funnel is amazing.

Alfredo Delgado and Justin Beasley are two more Social media Gurus who are great Social Media experts in my opinion backed by facts.

He is one of the originals who started in 1996 and I'm pretty sure he has seen it all. I like his writing style and he sounds like a very down to earth guy.

I have emailed him a few times and always got a response. You don't see that very often in IM.

Russel Brunson?? stay away from that scam artist (potato gun - I will say no more) - I like Kern, Andy Jenkins and Trey Smith - I would also add Matt Carter and Mark Ling - they provide great content on a consistent basis, Kern is great for establishing the right mind set for marketing, Andy Jenkins is the video boss (literally) and Trey smith is awesome at teaching everything about apps for new and established developers, Matt Carter and Mark Ling provide great consistent content on affiliate marketing - Matt Carters blog is one of the best Ive seen. There have been a lot of names dropped here that I would encourage people to do more research on - some people become fans of these gurus and will stand up for them at no cost - do your own diligence but dont fall in love with your guru or you could be paying thousands for services you may be told you need when in fact you dont

You should say more to back up your claim - RB is many things, but a "scam artist" isn't one of them.

Potato guns are awesome - I've built more than my share.

I probably did use the wrong word - i have no doubt potato guns are cool - but his businesses have crashed and burnt constantly including x dot com and many others. His techniques are scammy/spammy however you would like to put it. Just read reviews of his ex employees. I will say this is no place for me to be so negative - but i have to be honest as well, if he provided value to yourself or others good luck is all I can say

Sorry, but that's a huge load of crap. Ex-employees have an axe to grind, I've had several of them. It's always the boss's fault. Pfft. And if you're talking about saltydruid, well, I'd suggest you look for different sources for your gossip.

    Hey everyone !

Quite an awesome response thread from the community!

Thanks for that - and I bet we all got some new ideas.

I can't wait to check out some more content from the mentors that you've listed!

    UPDATE:

I've been working hard, and I know you have too.

But, I decided that my content sucks.

And for my penance for my sins of writing 500 word blog posts in the first month of my site.

    I seek forgiveness.

I have consulted with the High Sparrow for guidance.

Through his counsel- I have decided to remove all banner ads and e-mail captures from my page until I write a boss ass post that gets ten organic or offline marketing comments.

Thanks for the free advice, warriors!

If any other newbies want to take place in the 7 days no chance for money challenge, please send me a message and we can brainstorm about writing ideas.

My heroes are Pat Flynn, John Chow, ShoeMoney.

Pat Flynn, I think, is the most interesting personage. He was an ordinary guy. And he still is.
He inspired me to start a blog, a youtube channel. I purchased a web hosting services by clicking his affiliate link, and he made another $65 from that click ))

actually you do not have to JOIN FRANK kerns stuff.

I am telling you his LIVE facebook videos....are very professional....and if you go watch them every week, you will learn lots more with him there than, a 997 course, or video training.

just watch his updates, study his emails, and writer down his tips. Test em all, and keep doing stuff that works. :-) your total cost = Some of your valuable time. But its time well spent in my book!

Thanks, yeah I went to his website and all I could find was some (very expensive) courses. I wasn't doubting their value but I was surprised I couldn't find any cheaper material he had.
