Building A One Page Website - What's That,.?

Hey,

For those who are familiar with Anik Singal`s teachings - he always recommends to start with a one page website, to get people's Email addresses.

However, I don't see a lot of people doing this nowadays, of course, a one-page website seems like an easy thing - rather than having to constantly create new content.

But, Is it actually better than a normal content Blog?

Perhaps he's referring to a squeeze page?

    Cheers. - Frank

it's a lead capture page and then redirect to an affiliate link or some free offer (ebook, video, etc).

I use one page (squeeze pages) but rather than a very short headline plus opt in form...

I make them longer like a mini sales page / blog post 5 - 700 words.

Sometimes though I will make my squeeze 2 or 3 pages and force my leads to click through to actually get to the opt in.

This weeds a lot of the freebie whores out and gives a much lower conversion but the people who make it to the form are much higher quality leads.

Very Interesting! I also thought about doing this, because typically the only headline and opt.in form only works in IM niche -

I think Having a squeeze page that looks like a sales page makes people more engaged and in turn more interested in your teachings and offer...

I'm NOT yet sure of how this converts, but it definitely deserves some AB Testing,

No . . . it's not "better" than a content blog. It's just different. It has a different purpose. It's for lead capture in exchange for some incentive. When you do it right, your get a prospect's contact information plus, if you are smart, you will offer something valuable in the niche that you created. So in addition to getting a prospect onto your subscriber list, you are offering that person an opportunity to see your good work, to see the value that you give your customers, to also check out some of the links you place in your freebie, etc.

He is referring to landing pages so he can grab some emails and collect some leads. This kind of websites are best for paid advertising, not for the purpose of SEO or any organic traffic.

I used to have a 3 page site back when I knew even less than I do now. A sales page, terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Had an ebook for $197 with an exit popup OTO for $97. Sent ultra target traffic from forum posts every morning and made 2 to 3 sales a week.

Definitely hard to scale and the opt-in > email > sales funnel probably would have done better but I can't say for sure since I never tried it.

These days, I'm all about content.

If you made 2 to 3 sales a week by sending your traffic straight to your sales page, then you would probably made 10 times that much if you had created a marketing funnel that pre-sold your ebook.

      Example...
      1. Squeeze page with a free report that presells your ebook.
      2. Follow up emails mixed with free content and promotional emails that promote your ebook.
      3. Follow up emails that promote affiliate products in the same niche as the content of your ebook.
