The best thing to write about is what you already know and what interests you, that way it will come to you 10 times faster.

Write about what you know most about and what excites you. It is easier to write about a topic you love and know a lot about with confidence.

That said, you also need to take a consideration on who you're writing it to - your target market and what would be most interesting to them. If you're trying to attract a certain group of people to you then you need to make sure that you are writing in topics of their interest and what would be most helpful to them.

Let me add these to what other warriors have said

Research - Get good background info on the topic you are writing on
List Major Points in your rough draft
Use The Major Points As subheadings In the article

I've come to realize that subheadings make it easy for writers and readers alike to enjoy the article

Another good way to help yourself become a good writer is to regularly read good writing. Reading quality newspapers, magazines, and online content trains your mind to speak in a certain way, you can then speak that same way when it comes time to do your own writing.

One of the things I recommend new writers do is to read 3-5 articles on the topic you want to write on and then close them all and try to write an article of your own. Don't copy the articles (either word for word or in structure) - try to synthesize the information and create your own article from the information you just read.

Another thing to try - it's a lot easier to write bullet-point style articles (ie - "3 Tips on ..." or "7 Steps to ...") than to do full paragraphs right off the bat.

And, of course, practice, practice, practice! Even if your first attempts stink, you'll get the hang of it eventually

The more you read, the more you learn about a topic and the easier it becomes to write about.

By reading high quality information (either online or in books/magazines) you do get used to particular writing styles and you'll notice your writing becoming more "professional" as you are influenced by what you are reading.
