Can Someone Please Help Me Out?

Hi everyone.

I've been on WF for two years now and I've read many write-ups on how to make money online.

I've also bought WSO's that I thought I could implement to kick start my online venture.

But I always meet up with two great barriers that have hindered real progress

1. Clickbank account
2. PayPal Business account

You all will agree that these two are very vital to making money online, as most screenshots shown as proof has one or both of these as their evidences, in most cases.

Yes, i know both are free to open. But due to my location (am in Nigeria), I've found it difficult opening any of them till now.

I've also written to both organizations more than two times in the last two years, but haven't gotten any positive reply till now. They keep telling me its country vs company policy, and that they will inform me as soon as the coast is clear.

PayPal eventually allowed registration in 2014, but it's useless as you can only make purchases with it but can't receive payments or commissions into the account.

I've tried skipping the two (PayPal and Clickbank), and move on with my online venture; but it has somehow been difficult as I keep coming across the need for both of them.

In fact, most affiliate network I see online seem to require that you have one or both of them for you to be accepted or to get paid.

This now makes me to wonder if one can really make real money online with this limitation.

I know there are others out there in the same shoes with me; but I want to speak only for myself for now cos I know not everyone is well intentioned. These organizations must have made their policies as a result of what some unscrupulous individuals must have done, which has now affected some of us who wants to do legitimate business online.

So please...

1. Is there anyone here who can help me out on the issue of having these two accounts?

OR

2. Are there other directions one can go to make money online without needing or using these two accounts?

Honest replies to this post will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

    Hey there,

Sorry to hear about our struggles. Is there anyway that you can partner with someone in another country for a split of the profits you generate from affiliate marketing?

I mean if you build some good relationships with people then build a blog promoting some products you could just place their hop links on your site.

If my buddy proposed such an idea I'd happily take them up because if he was good at affiliate marketing... Even if I only got 10% of what he made... It would be money for nothing.

Failing that... Create your own product and promote to people from Nigeria and use a payment processor that everyone in your country can use.

    Hope this helps you out.

Thks Steve. I really appreciate your concern.
On partnering with someone elsewhere that one doesn't really know their trust level or inner motives, I guess one has to be a bit cautious.
Nevertheless, if I do get someone like that who is trustworthy, I may consider working with such.
You can reach me personally for a chat.
      Thks pal.

You absolutely DON'T need a Clickbank account.

A PayPal account is pretty tough to operate without.

This is just asking for problems and is a large part of the reason restrictions exist.

Yes Brent, I agree with you on the clickbank issue. I've joined JVZoo and others instead.

BUT PayPal then became a serious issue to get payments from those networks. Its tough operating without it as you rightly noted.

And thks for the backlink's advice. Will watch against that.
      Thks

I don't use Clickbank. There are other affiliate sources of products and income if you look for them. This will take some time and research.

I do use paypal. But back in the past I had to use Google Checkout to collect payments for products. But they (checkout) only allowed people in the US to use this service.

So being from Canada, I had to become a little more flexible in my thinking...

I asked my uncle in Minnesota to use his address and register with checkout.

It worked while I needed to use it.

Back in my younger days, I worked nights doing inbound telemarketing for a major outdoor catalog. Many, many Canadian customers had shipping addresses in US towns near the Canadian border. Seems the VAT tax was turning a lot of otherwise honest citizens into tax cheats.

I even met one guy who ran a home business accepting packages for Canadians just across the border.

More recently. I sold some stuff on eBay, and one of the buyers was located in one of the Caribbean countries. He worked for one of the airlines, and used a Miami maildrop as the shipping address. The merchandise went home with him in his luggage, unwrapped and unpacked, and avoided tax and tariffs.

If Nigeria could only do something about all those dethroned princes, widows of government officials and high ranking military officers trying to get money out of the country, it might make it easier for honest people to get money in.

That's the point of this post Rory. I'm in search of someone out there who can help me out the way your uncle did for you!

Why would you trust a stranger on the Internet with your money?

Likewise, how can that person trust you a stranger to not be stealing, committing fraud, etc. with their PayPal account? You know the old buy a bunch of stuff using a PayPal link with a stolen credit card or doing chargebacks or whatever.

Hey Mark, I can understand your concerns, and you're completely right to reach such conclusions based on things you've heard before.

But believe this if you can try: that not everyone in Nigeria is a fraud...

Some of us have been working hard and sweating it out for years, even before this Internet boom began.

We're only just wanting to use the internet to make some extra cash and improve our living standards that our government/leaders have failed to give us as someone here has rightly observed.

So pls, give some of us the benefit of doubt on this matter, and help in whatever way you think you can.

It will go a long way to ease us of the embarrassments we've been facing for something that wasn't really directly our fault.

My comments have nothing to do with Nigeria and I have no reason to doubt your intentions. It would apply to any stranger living anywhere, including down the block, that wanted to use my payment processing account.

If you can't do affiliate marketing, there are other options. You can sell your own infoproducts or services through 2CO, for example.

Your limitation is no different than mine, really - I can't practice law.

Since I can't, I've chosen a path I can take legally, morally, and ethically. No matter how much I like the law or how much I'd love to be a lawyer, that option just isn't available to me right now.

You are in the same boat. If the affiliate networks won't let you sell through them, then find another way to make your money. And I don't mean by borrowing someone's account - do it right by having your own account at places that will accept you.

            Mark

Probably your best alternative is to partner with someone else in a recognizable location. Let them handle the transactions. This may or may not be possible for you.

There are also many other payment processors besides PayPal and ClickBank. Here are a few I would investigate - I don't know what their requirements or country restrictions are - you'll have to do some homework on your own, buy maybe one of these is a possibility.

    2CheckOut.com
    Stripe.com
    WePay.com
    ACH-payments.com
    PaySimple.com
    Authorize.net
    Dwolla.com
    Google.com/Wallet

Even if you find one that will let you create an account, you still have a big challenge ahead.

It's the fact that you're from Nigeria and your countrymen have a history of scamming the public with their money laundering and transferring schemes. When online buyers see the word "Nigeria" online or in an email, they have been conditioned to run away as quickly as possible.

    The best to you,

Thks for the suggestions Steve. I'll definitely check them out one by one to see what I can make use of in your list.
However, I believe having someone out there to partner with is still a better alternative.
And yes, I agree the challenge is big because of the stigma attached to the name "Nigeria".
But I believe somehow, I'll overcome it.
      Thks anyway.

You could set up a virtual bank account that can be used to open a paypal account.

You could set up a US company and bank account. This would probably be the best solution, however would also be the most expensive.

I know that a lot of Companies online don't deal with Nigerian Individuals.

But why do you want to work with ClickBank and not another Network?

I'm sure there are other Networks who will gladly accept people from all over the world...

And If you can't receive Money from your PayPal Account, why NOT try Payoneer?

... And if all else fails - you are free to use a Proxy or a good and reliable VPN.

    Hope that helps
