What is the best way for a local home improvement business to generate leads?

This is a not an info product or a digital product. For a businesses where people have to call up and set appointments to send people over. what are some good strategies to generate leads.

    I'd get as many Web properties as you can out there targeting a specific area of your local businesses expertise.

    I'd start with YouTube Videos because they rank very well for what I'm about to tell you.

    So i'll give you a quick example.

    If I had a client who was a plumber in my city Liverpool, England I'd have hundreds of videos with titles targeting one service and as many suburbs as I can think of.

    E.g
    • 24 Hour Toilet Unblocking Service Huyton Liverpool Call 555 5555
    • 24 Hour Toilet Unblocking Service Anfield Liverpool Call 555 5555
    • 24 Hour Toilet Unblocking Service Westderby Liverpool Call 555 5555
    • 24 Hour Toilet Unblocking Service Hillside Liverpool Call 555 5555

    The video for the titles above would have the same content on the actual video. Obviously something about a toilet unblocking service. And as you can see the only thing that changes is the suburb.

    In the description I'd have a link to a website with a lead capture page and once I'd finished as many suburbs as I could for that service I'd work my way through a list of other services and do exactly the same.

    • 24 Hour Emergency Plumbing {suburb} Liverpool Call 555 5555
    • 24 Hour Sink Unblocking Service {suburb} Liverpool Call 555 5555
    • 24 Hour Drain Unblocking Service {suburb} Liverpool Call 555 5555
    • 24 Hour Emergency Leaking Pipe Repair Service {suburb} Liverpool Call 555 5555

    In the end I'd have literally hundreds of videos out there all targeting terms that people in those individual suburbs would search.

    These videos rank very well since they're usually the only ones targeting those smaller areas in their title and usually will rank within hours at the top. (try it wth a couple of dummy videos)

    Next I would create a website with a different page with the same title as every single video I've made and once that's done I'd create a blogger and wordpress blog and do exactly the same.

    In the end you're going to be dominating the first page of google with 4 or 5 listings for your chosen business.

    If you're doing lead gen you should look into using a number that you control in the titles so that you can switch the client if they cause problems down the line.

        No worries buddy,

        Hopefully it helps you out. It most certainly works.

        Like I said just try a video, doesn't even have to be anything related.

        Just upload any video with a title like I listed above and search Google for it in a few hours.

        It will be at the top.

        Also uploading the same videos to vimeo will give you an extra listing in the results.

        Your website pages and blogs might take a little while to show up but they will.

        Also remember use a number you control otherwise you'll risk losing your hard work should your client (if this is a client) doesn't pay or decides to stop working with you.

    Just be creative and think of yourself as the prospect and what would attract you. Am sure the same thing that would attract you in the shoes of the prospect will also attract other prospects to becoming leads.

    Facebook and Google could perhaps deliver some highly qualified leads. Google more so because you'd catch prospects closer to actual intent.
