Query aout sending bulk email

Hi there, i am very new to internet marketing, have been researching it for about 6 months but there is still lots and lots to take in.

I have a query about sending bulk email, i recently aquired an opt in list, got mailboy 2004 software and i was rubbing my hands wondering how my 1st attempt to make money was going to go only to discover that my ISP which is BT run by yahoo only allow me to send out 500 emails a day and 100 per hour from an email address.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend an alternative ISP, or a service which will allow me to send out mass email.

I have about 10m opt in email address's, which is a huge amount and a system in place to follow up any interested parties.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Kind regards
Jammylad

I appreciate you guys pointing out this to me.

The purchase i made was buying 3 billion email address's loads of re sell items, 1000's of ebooks and tons and tons of software and tools for a low price of $49.

I have been assured that all these people have opt in to receive email from 3rd parties and that there would be no question of me being accused of spamming.

As i said i am new, but i have heard it mentioned that you need a list of about 150,000 people to make money online (from email marketing campaigns)

How do guys that have these sort of lists send out mass email.

    Kind regards

Don't you think you've paid too much for that "small" list of 3 billion email addresses, "few" thousands of ebooks and "only" some tons of tons of software and tools?

Now let's get serious: you really paid too much for NOTHING. The best thing to do with that billion of email addresses is to quickly delete them. Thousands of ebooks and tons of software and tools? I bet you can get them for free in many places

Eeek, unfortunatley you have become the prey of the unscrupulous , you have fallen into the trap that a huge number of newbies fall into. Your so called 3 billion e-mail addresses are a joke, you will be lucky if 2% are deliverable and in the processs you will get canned from any and all normal ISP's.

I have been assured that all these people have opt in to receive email from 3rd parties and that there would be no question of me being accused of spamming.
You were almost guaranteed lied to, and even if they did opt in (which is HIGHLY unlikely) they would have opted in from a variety of different reasons and topics/niches. That e-mail list is sadly - junk, not a little bit of junk, but entirely 100% total junk. I know it's harsh to hear that as you feel you got the bargain of the centurary but you need to put this one down to being a bit fresh to the big old world of IM and making a mistake.

Your billions of so called opt-ins are worthless, your account with any ISP will be shut off immediately, and any hosting you have with the landing page on it will be shut down as the hosts are deluged with complaints from ISP's and users alike.

YOu can make $50k from 200 e-mail addresses or $10 from 1 million, it's not the numbers on the list that are the primary issue, it's where they came from and how they were sourced.

How do guys that have these sort of lists send out mass email.

      Kind regards

Only spammers send out millions of e-mails at once, untargeted , bulk purchased e-mail lists are not "mass e-mail" they are spam.

For those individuals who are legit with a list in those numbers, ie huge institutions, Amazon and so forth they have private mail servers costing tens of thousands of dollars to maintain.

The only way you can send that many crap e-mails is to contact some dodgy e-mailing service based in China and so forth and pay them to send all the e-mails out for you.

Expect them to siphon off any that don't bounce for themselves and you'll end up with almost nothing in return but a big headache and whatever product you try to sell will have the owner/company come crashing down on you like a ton of bricks because his reputation is in tatters because you spammed the hell out of people.

The only stuff you can sell with rubbish lists like that is dodgy products like penis extenders, duff supplements etc, they will tolerate it.

Honestly the route your going down is a nightmare, it's for very very advanced individuals with the contacts and know how to make it gel, it also has no real long term future, you won't be able to compete with the proper spammers, you'll get a non existent inbox percentage , I could go on.

My advice is to spend some time on this forum looking and reading, get a handle on a more stable white hat and sensible business to start your online adventures and go from there.

You're not unlike thousands of newbies to IM who think they will be buying their 60" plasma and Ferrari next week after mass mailing their 3 billion people for $47, unfortunately life doesn't work like that.

Hate to rain on your parade , but honestly it's the truth.

thanks guys, i wish i had consulted this forum instead of steaming ahead.

I didnt realise the implications or ramifications this would have for my business but also the company i was planning on promoting.

I had 3b email address's i thought that even if i get 1 in a million people buy its still 300 or 3000 (not sure which) sales which either way would have been a tidy profit.

Anyways Simon i totally appreciate you clearly explaining the pit falls of running this exercise and thanks to everyone else for pointing out this is a bad exercise to contemplate!!

        regards

The BEST thing you can do with that list.... DELETE IT!

Signup with a proper AutoResponder company, and start building a list the RIGHT way.

Just search this forum for list building, and you will learn virtually everything you need to know for free.

Some advice for the future.... If you see any product or package which includes a list to mail.... Close the site, and never go back.
