I'm currently in research mode for a profitable niche and I have a question. In your experience what would rank higher in google?.....a page on a very high pr site ranking for a specific keyword or a website of say 5 pages optimized for the same keyword. Hope I made that clear enough. Thanks in advance.

    I think you've already had an answer, that is "a page on a very high pr site ranking for a specific keyword". The backlinks from high PR or authority sites is very important factors in SEO. And more, each keyword should only belong to 1-2 post/page, 5 is too much.

    On the other hand if you create a site having more than 1 page targeting same keywords, then would place content and other site information moving around the same search terms so these pages will compete with each other and you'll never rank higher on google. As your effort will be diveded into 5 parts.
    But if you put all your effort on one page, you'll get ranked higher in sort amount of time.

    Hope I have explained better my experience and clear your all doubts.

    I would tend to agree that ranking one page instead of 5 pages would be much more effective. From my experience ranking one page has been much more effective than ranking 5 pages. With that being said if you do one page and Combine that with a high PR website Back link, that should do wonders.
