Need blog name ideas for starting my weight loss blog

Hi
I habe recently managed to loose 100 pounds of weight and achieve a good fitmess level after being obesed for 30 years of my life. I have developed around 200nlow calorie protein based recipes which i ate during my weight loss journey. Now I am thinking of starting a blog with my experiences of loosing weight and also posting those recipes. I dunno if it is good idea to monetize it but would love to give it a shot.

So first of all I need ideas for blog name as I have been thinking hard for last 3 days and couldnt come up with any thing. I wanna name it funny or informal as I am gonna keep the tone of my posts light as I feel weight loss has to be fun.
Please give your name ideas and any other suggestions regarding the blog are also welocme.

You can use the google keyword planner and research keywords based on demand and create a domain around that. Good for the search engines!

Are you talking about the blog name or the domain name? They don't necessarily need to match and since there are very few .com names worth owning that are still available you should consider a .diet TLD.

I wanted a a particular weight-loss niche domain name but a cyber-squatter wants me to pay $10K. I got him down to $8K and was tempted (more money than brains). He pissed me off during our arm-wrestling, so I bought the same name with a .diet TLD for $23. Screw him.

By the time he sells that name (which will be never), I will have already established my blog and that domain will be worthless.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't rank a .diet TLD. You can!.

    Cheers. - Frank

Ok till now I always was in impression thay the blog name and domain has to be same or very similar. I love the name missionslimpossible.com but it is askinf price is 2-3k which I cannot afford. So what can I do. I M still not sure about the viability of .diet domain

Don't be constrained by rules that don't actually exists, except for in your mind. You'll only wind-up being your own worst enemy.

Haggle. I recently bought a domain that was asking $6K for $950. You really need to arm-wrestle with these clowns. That name is OK, but if you read it wrong it looks like Missions-Limp-Ossible. Better for a male enhancement drug site. lol I'll bet you can wind-up buying that name for under $1K. If you're not willing to make that minimal investment in a niche and blog that you believe you can monetize, I'd think long and hard before moving on. It is one of the most competitive areas you can work in. Not for the faint of heart.
So what can I do. I M still not sure about the viability of .diet domain
Well, I'm not here to sell you anything. Think about it. What is your niche? Is there a specific TLD for that?

Again, you can't name the downside to a .diet TLD other than 'your beliefs.' There is absolutely nothing you can't do with an alternative TLD if you market your site properly.

Don't make excuses to not be successful. You'll have enough legitimate problems to contend with. Don't invent new ones that are based on nothing but your misconceptions.

        Cheers. - Frank

P.S. If you don't buy it, I will. lol

How did you lose your weight? Simply by changing your eating habits? Increasing your exercise? Taking a supplement? Caloric deficit? Do you have (and more importantly) would you use images of yourself on your site to show it works?

I lost weight by making lifestyle changes. I Started clean eating and worked out daily thus creating a calorie deficiet. Yes I might be open to using my own photographs on the blog if needed to make it successful. I still have 50 pounds more to go till I reach my ultimate fitness level.

You can have deficitdiet.com if ya want it. I would go with a name like that if you're going to be selling a weight loss program. You've kind of missed the boat for a follow me type of site.

I'd recommend as others have suggested, use a keyword planner. Not the best but I think, lose100pounds could be a name. It's very specific and has marketability.

Katie didn’t start her blog until after she lost 125 pounds by eating right and dieting. She started it as a way to keep herself accountable and share her passion for running. Katie is open and vulnerable when it comes to the tougher things in life, such as her constant battle with binge eating and weight maintenance, as well as the happier side of life, including her family and running.

As long as you have done proper KWR for your articles, the blog name doesn't really matter. Remember you optimize your articles (using your keywords) to drive traffic to your site. However, the domain name is important, it still has to be related to the niche - weight loss. There are so many ideas and info in this niche. Once you do a thorough KWR, the ideas you get will give you a range of domain names that you can pick.

One of the common things such marketers do this that they never will use their real names.

So, I decided to use this name for my diet blog: The Incredible Shrinking Man. It's a well-known phrase, memorable, paints a picture related to the subject and has the added benefit of highlighting one of my best attributes - that of being simply incredible at everything I do in life. lol

Of course the ,com is squatted. I put in a bid of $3K and they called to tell me that the price is $25K, but if I pay today, I can have it for $16K. No thanks.

Registered the .net for $12 and the .diet TLD for $23. I can live with that. :-)

Since I never relied on SEO for anything I have ever done, when the time comes I believe I can put together a very targeted marketing plan that will meet my needs. My goal will be one-on-one coaching for a very limited number of people that want to lose at least 75 pounds. If you only need to lose 50 - I am not your guy - go away.

Also registered lose75pounds.com as I have an idea for tying these together. I'm formally retired, so this will be a marketing experiment and even a modicum of success will be sufficient. I would much rather actually help people lose weight than make any money.

I currently run an Internet radio station so I will start another one specifically for self-help topics focusing on weight loss and do a live, call-in show Monday thru Friday.

I'm so looking forward to this that I am going out to join a gym, today. Need to lose my last 25 pounds while I get all of this in place. We all know that the last 25 pounds are the hardest and this project will give me the motivation that I need to accomplish my own personal goals. Let's face it, you can't help anyone else if you don't have your own life well-sorted.

Thanks to the OP for posting. I have been looking for something interesting and meaningful to do on a daily basis. Retirement sucks - and is deadly! It's nice to actually be able to sense the blood pulsing through my body.

    Cheers. - Frank

I use Lean Domain Search and Impossibility quite a bit. Both tools will return lots of dot coms that are available for registration. Many of their suggestions are pretty random, but still, the tools can produce some great dot com domains in a very short amount of time.

Everyone's offered great ideas and I see you've already registered a domain. What I wanted to say was something a little different. You've lost the weight, which is great, and, as others have said, you can't really do a follow-me type blog now because, well, you've already succeeded. However, you might consider showing people how you maintain that weight loss through the ups and downs of life.

The diet industry is filled with how to lose the weight, but how to maintain that weight loss only gets a few sentences at the end of a 300 page book because it really isn't in the industry's best interests for people to keep the weight off. And you could show people how a real person deals with life and manages to maintain their weight loss over the long term. Just a thought.

Try using the Google Keyword Planner or other keyword tools like keyword.io. You don't have to use and actual keyword for your domain if you don't want to, but the keywords can definitely give you an idea of which terms your target market is using to try to find your product/services - and you can use them as name inspiration and combine them with your own ideas. Also you can try WORDOID - Creative Name Generator - Domain names, company names, product names for additional name help.
