Is it good for me to participate in some Traffic Exchange Program?

Here is the deal, I have been listening about these Exchange programs for a while now and people are telling me that they do work. But still, I am having a hard time believing that programs do work and get you more traffic in conversion.

Keeping in mind that only traffic would not do me any good as I also want some conversion who are willing to buy software and coaching from me.

If they do work, can you guys please tell me how the whole system works and how can I exchange my traffic.

    I use to make a lot of money using traffic exchange programs many moons ago.
    The trick is to advertise what all the traffic exchange users are looking for--more
    traffic. If you are promoting something else you are likely to get little results.
    That was more than 15 years ago so things may have changed since.
