Analyzing a Niche Site

Hi there
IN my niche website analysis I found a generic product that has 9900 search a month. I found the EMD domain. All the top 10 competitor havent optimize the url or title h1, h2 so, that is a good sign I think.
The top 10 results are big stores like tesco, amazon, argos, halsfors...
the question is: Is that a green light to start building the niche site and gain some traffic to monetize it (affiliate or adsense?) What would be your suggestion on then strategy?

Might be too good to be true. One of the paradoxes of selecting a niche is that it should have some healthy competition. If there's no one else marketing the product in a significant way, the chances are it is not a very popular item.

I you are saying that there is competition, but its very weak (no website SEO optimization), I'd still have a good look around before diving in.

Are there ads on Google? Is the product selling on Amazon? Do you have a list or interested customers? Can you afford to advertise before you begin to get ranked in the search engines?

First step is to gain the traffic. Based on your question if I want to go organically I will add up the page rank of all the websites on page one and go from there. Yeah the domain will give you the most authority!

Is it available because it has a tradename or trademark in the domain itself? If so, don't register it.

How do you expect to beat large authority sites? And also, don't you realize that emd is bad in Google SEO these days?
