IM is overwhelming...

As a newbie, who wants to earn my first buck in IM there seems like a lot to learn, SEO, WSO, Listbuilding, Funnels, Traffic, etc. I don't know where to begin. I know a lot of people are experts here and in the long run I also want to contribute to the warrior community. So I want to be an expert on something about IM but I don't know where to begin. Maybe someone can give me some advice how to start my IM journey. Thanks!

My advice for a complete newbie is pretty much the same as mentioned here. Use this forum as a research tool and learn about various topics by using the search feature here.

It was mentioned in this thread that you need at least $1000 to begin an FBA business. I can tell you from my experience that is not true. You can and should start small and spend more on your inventory as you begin to build the business. My very first FBA sale was a set of DVDs of an old TV show. I had these in my house so the cost was essentially zero as I had them already.

Hi, yes it can be really confusing and overwhelming at first.

1.create a list of niches that you're interested in and you know something about
2.do keyword analysis to see how many people search for that and what is the competition like, what's the price of paid advertising for those keywords etc.
3.visit websites of affiliate networks like share a sale, CJ, impact radius, click bank to find good affiliate offers
    4. register a domain for $0.99
    5. get first month of hosting for $0.01
    6. create a website based on a template (theme), it won't cost much. Connect with autoresponder so that you can build a list.
    5. do on page SEO and start writing high quality blog posts or start investing in paid traffic

Another option is to start providing some services on freelancing websites but that's trading your time for money. So affiliate marketing is better.

You're welcome. If you want something cheap for the beginning hostgator and interserver offer first month for $0.01 with coupons.

But in our experience Siteground and Bluehost tend to be better. I would choose Siteground.

On the other hand, Wp Engine is suitable if you want very fast Wordpress hosting but it's much more expensive.

Thanks Vilcoms for this. This is just the information that I need. I'll check out each host that you cited. I've been hearing a great deal about Wp Engine and good reviews too. Back in 2009 I had a site with Site Build It. I don't know if you heard it. (If you heard of them please tell me what you think of them.) But then, at the very time I was starting my site, I got so busy with my teaching that I simply have no time doing it. Therefore, I wasn't able to continue it. Now, I want to start again and start earning my first buck on websites. I am doing freelancing online with Illustrations and Graphic Design so basically I've earned my first bucks online already. What I am saying is I want to earn using other ways like affiliate or websites. Thanks again!

The truth is there are many techniques out there and they all work. However, they are not all created equals.

For example, I would not recommend a newbie to start with Affiliate marketing. Why? Because you have to get a lot of traffic, then you have to build a relationship with that traffic, then you have to convert that traffic...It takes a lot of time and effort. When you are just starting out you want to make money quickly to gain momentum.

Same thing with blogging. Lot's of people start blogs thinking they will make money quickly. It takes TIME. A lot of it.

This is why I'm glad I started with Kindle publishing. Amazon literally brings the traffic for you so you can make money really quickly and it is not expensive to get started. You can also build a back-end, build a list and do affiliate marketing (with amazon bringing the traffic for you...isn't that a smarter strategy?)

Amazon FBA is also really good, but you need more money to get started (at least $1000) and is a little bit more complicated.

The bottom line is choose your method wisely, then focus on it until you master it and you will succeed.

Oh, and try not to pay too much attention to people that are negative on this form. Internet marketing is hard and some people with thousands of posts became really mad over the years because they didn't make it. Hang out with successful people and ignore the noise.

That's the key to success in this business. Welcome on board.

Hi MValmont, exactly what I need to know. I was thinking on starting my blog, or YouTube channel, an online store, and you know what, I'm just thinking on starting on Affiliate Marketing. So I'm studying about it for a while now. But then you suggested about kindle which as what you suggested is easier to start for a beginner like me. So I'll take a look at it, I'll study it. And it's a good idea that Amazon is giving you traffic? I want to learn this one. Do you have links, articles, mentors or courses that you can suggest for me to study this? Thanks MValmont.

Just sent you a free guide by private message.

There is nothing wrong with affiliate marketing and starting a youtube channel, a blog etc. I highly recommend you to do it actually, but I would recommend you to see these things as LONG TERM. You won't make money soon with these things, it's a fact.

The only way you could make money quickly with affiliate marketing is if you pay for paid ads, and paid ads are way more complicated than it seems and you risk loosing money.

        This is how I started:
Started by writing a few Kindle books myself. Saw that I was making money from them....The decided to pay people to write them for them and scale up this business as quickly as possible.

Then I realized that I could build a list from all these people, and I started to build a back-end from each book to grow a list, and I send affiliate offers to these people and this is how I make money from affiliate marketing.

A good strategy is to put a book permanently free on Amazon ( it will rank really high because of this), so a lot of people will read it, and a lot of people will subscribe to your list and you send them affiliate offers. Boom. You build a list for FREE and QUICKLY.

I just want to clarify, as I understood in what you said here, after the first Kindle books that you wrote sell, you decided to pay people to write books for you?

I think this strategy is genius! So basically you made a list from the people who purchased and read your books. And then sold them again with your other books as soon as they were made. Is that right? So it must be from the same niche as well, Btw, what is back-end? And how many books did you already write? What is the frequency of your book releases?

Yes I outsource the writing of the books. I don't know how many I have, but I have over 100 for sure.

You can build a list by putting a link in your book that direct to an email capture page (they click on the link, they give their e-mail, and you give something in return...This is basic marketing right there, you give value, and people give you value). Let's say the person that click on your link bought your book on fitness. Now you know that this person is interested in fitness.

You then can go on clickbank, find a product in the fitness niche, get your affiliate link and send that link to that person in hope they will click through your link and you will get a commission.

This is a good strategy because the person ALREADY KNOWS YOU. They bought A BOOK FROM YOU. The relationship is ALREADY CREATED. If that person trust you and like you, then chances are high that they will want to buy from you again!

Affiliate marketing is the process of making someone buy from you a product that you promote. The problem with the strategy that other people promote is you have to build a website, drive a lot of traffic, then build a relationship with them, then sell them something. All of this take time and effort.

With the kindle strategy, you save a lot of time because amazon brings the traffic for you, and the relationships builds easily because they buy from you and you deliver value...

ah man, now I understand why some of these guys with thousands of posts hate me. I actually deliver concrete and valuable advice and it must be hard to compete with that.

PS: again, there is nothing wrong with building your website and driving traffic to it. I just don't think it is the easiest method and the most newbie friendly. To each its own I guess

It really shouldn't be that overwhelming. Just take your time and learn as you go. There are a lot of great, and free, resources online to help you if you get stuck along the way. Be VERY careful of the of people that try to sell you stuff on this forum as I'm sure you'll get a few PMs. Instead of trying to learn everything before you start, get started and learn it as you go. It will be much less overwhelming and seeing progress will keep you motivated.

Before SEO, PPC, email marketing, and so on even come in to play, you have to get your hands on a product. You can either create one or become an affiliate. The most common niches to enter are those with desperate buyers and those with problems that can be solved. You may find it easier to start with a niche you have experience with, but make sure that it's a niche that is profitable.

When you identify a niche, then you can get started with building your site.

Gambino, thank you. this is very insightful and clear. True, I know I shouldn't be overwhelmed and just take my time. Actually, the exact cause of my feeling overwhelmed is the sheer amount of available stuff out there. My email is flooded by so many offers, that I can't even read most of them. So when I am bound to start with something, I'm beginning to question myself, is this really the best place to start? I mean, I don't want to build a ladder that I'll find later on that is leaning to the wrong wall.

This is a very helpful advice to me, and sincere too. Ok, finding a niche is my first task. I think I have some in my mind. But I need more research for this.

What are you going to do with the niche?

You see, people that don't know what they are talking about always say the same answers : find something you love, find a niche, etc.

What you need is a system. Go to the WSO section a follow one of the system out there. This will save you TONS OF HOURS of research. There are a lot of good WSO that are not expensive at all.

You need a road map, someone telling you what to do. DON'T DO like people with thousands of posts here.

There is a HUGE difference between what we call a keyboard junkie (someone who write a lot of posts but in reality are not making money) and people that are actually making money.

        My two cents

Great. Another fast and easy way to start making money is to become a freelancer on Upwork or Fiverr, but it does require you to exchange your time for money. But hey, It's a good place to start! Good luck

Let me guess, you just happen to have a free report on your site that you can PM him?

This is exactly what I'm talking about, and it's exactly why the OPs email is full. Internet marketers are always going to sell you on their products. Wonder why this poster has ONLY recommended that you sell books on Amazon and it coincidentally is exactly what he does (or claims to do) and offers on his website that he sent you via PM almost certainly with a sales pitch, opt-in and/or affiliate links included?

Because, that is what is best for the poster, not what is best for you. Every internet marketer has a great system that will make you money... You just have to buy it from them. LOL

Here is a good example of how NOT TO THINK

Someone has a program on a specific method, therefore THE METHOD SUCKS AND DOESN'T WORK.

Someone says he makes money online, THEREFORE HE IS LYING.

That's why I say choose who you associate with. You are the results of the expectations of your peer group.

If you hang out with people that are not making money and are negative because they are not succeeding, you will become like this. That's my best advice for beginners.

I've highlighted the most important part of your post. You've got to transition from a consumer to predominantly being a producer. The people flooding your email box are producers. Unfortunately, it's hard to find genuine help on IM forums because it is loaded with producers looking for people like you to sell their products to.

The good news is, once you find your niche, your market and market research will tell you exactly what to do. Too many people fail because they build a business based on what they want, or what they think their target market wants, and not what their target market actually wants.

For example, let's say you decide "dog training" is going to be your niche. Some basic research will include reading and/or participating in forums, maybe taking a survey and competitive analysis of what products are on the market. What are people buying? Video? Ebooks? Those things that make a piecing noise?

That's why I always say, find a hungry niche with a problem. Then find or develop the solution to that problem, or problems. Your market will tell you what they want. The worst thing you can do is start cranking out products that nobody wants or that nobody is willing to pay for.

    Hi G,

Totally overwhelming, confusing and harrowing in the beginning. I have been there. All Warriors have

Being clear on why you're doing IM is the difference maker. Some do it just for outcomes like making money, which ties you to that outcome. When you're not making money you lost your motivator. Desperation sets in.

But you are off to a good start buddy, wanting to make friends and patiently learn the in's and out's in a calm, clear fashion.

That's really it; if you can patiently move forward, learn, study, connect, share what you've learned, and build a heart-centered business, it shows you're in this game to have fun, to free yourself and to help folks along the way. And of course you'll succeed in due time.

I'm highly partial to blogging because it's a fab brand building tool that helps you to stand out from the crowd.Fabulous medium for expressing yourself creatively too. But you really cannot go wrong with any niche you feel passionate about because that's the beginning point of success.

    Enjoy your journey

    Ryan

PS: if you decide to go the blogging route or wonder what it may take please PM me, OK? I can answer your questions.

Dang, you seem enjoying yourself in the Tropics now Ryan. I'm here in the Tropics too but I can't enjoy travelling just yet. Not yet. Maybe when I become successful with business and stuff.

Yes, I want to connect to people here and make friends and hopefully create a partnership with one of these days.

I'll definitely do blogging for I need it on what I've in mind to do. But I'm still weighing out my options. I will look for some WSO also.

Bluehost does not seem to take service seriously. Tried to hook up formmail (which they re-named to Bluemail and broke) for a client. When I contacted support they said they knew it was down but didn't know when it would be fixed. There are better ways now-a-days but that's a basic script that people depend on and it should have been fixed within 24 hours.

This Kindle strategy is interesting but far from easy. You have to be an expert or at least to really know a lot about some topics to write books and it takes a lot of time. It's easier to write blog posts.

Also, one ebook is not enough to have decent income. Writing 100+ books requires really enormous work. And what if english is not your first language etc.

In my opinion, it's better to start as a freelancer and then to build your website and continue with affiliate marketing or even cpa.

You may try with 1 kindle ebook to see how it goes, though.

Many newbies will start out with affiliate marketing. Just keep in mind that there is a big world outside the IM / MMO niche.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form to make money. So conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a purchase.

I have always favored PPL offer that have a make, get or save money angle/benefit to them. This is what has always worked well for me and tends to have the broadest mass appeal. So the potential exists to generate high volume.

There are many PPL offers that pay $20-$60 each (some higher depending on the vertical) that work well with a front-end campaigns. Offer that pay less and even some other type of offers such as Free signups, free trials and even some offers that are purchases, I will run on the back-end.

The key with all offers that I promote is I look for them to have mass appeal...will potentially appeal to a large section of the population, this makes them easier to promote to a general audience and cross promote the offers on the back-end.

Essentially, I'm targeting freebie seekers, which most marketers dread because they have to make sales in order to make money. Where most of the offers I promote are completely free, so I don't need to sell anything to anyone.

    Anyway, something to think about.

This is probably the best advice yet in this thread.

Way too many people that are new to IM immediately enter the MMO market. Which is understandable because it's the most commonly discussed market on this forum, unfortunately.

Same goes with affiliate marketing being the most commonly discussed marketing method on this site.

PPL is an interesting topic and DIABL0 is the only one I see consistently talking about it and providing valuable information.

I'm one of the guys he talks about who needs a customer to open their wallet to get paid. So, the thought of PPL is interesting and seemingly ridiculously scaleable.

We're actually adding a PPL program to our site, which only captures email in the fitness market. So, soon I'll have a point of view from the opposite side of the fence.

Yep, in my opinion not prudent to come in here as a Newbie and immediately start off in the MMO Nihe. People do it all the time. And some are successful but I think it is wise to cut your teeth in some non-MMO Niches and see how it goes.

Thanks for this Robert. Yeah, that makes sense. Since a newbie hasn't really started making money online or if he did, he made just a few bucks, then why would it be a good idea for him to start in the MMO niche. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but this makes sense.

I found your response very interesting. Especially when you say PPL has mass appeal and if free. Please let me know more details. Or a link to a few PPL you are using. Book links, e-books would be appreciated as well.

PPL is simply a lead generation offer. You can find them at most any CPA network or you can try and find the owner/advertiser of an offer and try and get set up directly with them. Last but not least, you could develop your own PPL offer, where you find companies that want to buy leads and you generate them for them.

The simplest way to get access to them will always be through CPA networks and you can find out from your account manager, which offers they have are performing best.

However, it is key to test them and test the same type of offers against each other, to find which converts the best. I have seen offers that are all basically the same, but one will drastically outperform the the others. Had you not tested, you would have been leaving money on the table.

Also, anytime you have an offer that is performing well, you ideally want to have it from more than one network. You may be capped at how many leads you can generate or the network may have a set budget...cap on how many the network can generate. So if you or the network was to hit a cap, you will be required to stop promoting the offer. If this happens, it would good to be able to switch to another network, where no cap has been hit and continue to promote the offer.

Rarely are the networks paying the full amount that they could be. So if you are generating volume, you always want to be asking for a bump in your payout. Some networks pay poorly. I have seen payouts of like $30, for an offer that I was getting like $36. So you want to be on top of what is a fair payout for offers. You want to ask the network if they have any private offers that are available, because some networks will have offers that they aren't advertising, However, there may be some restrictions and if you are new, you may not be able to get.

I wouldn't work with any network that doesn't pay weekly or at least has an option to be able to be paid weekly. Which will typically be that you produce a certain volume. When your first starting out and depending on your operating capital that you have, this can be a pain, if you can't keep generating leads until you get paid and replenish your capital. Also, if you get to the point where you are generating high volume, you don't want a network sitting on your money, even if you don't need it.

The benefits of getting set up directly with an offer owner/advertiser is that you will typically be able to get a higher payout than a network will provide, because they take a piece of the payout, so they make money. Sometimes you can get your own custom landing page, so you are not promoting the same one as everyone else or be able to create you own and have them host it. There are some other advantages that may exists, but those are usually the key ones.

Then there is the option to develop your own offers. In order to sell the leads, you have to get buyers. I'm sure that the idea of getting buyers sounds difficult. But the reality is that so many businesses rely heavily on buying leads, in order to generate sales...buying leads is the lifeblood of their business and much easier than you think.

The key to developing a good offer is optimizing the page and form to convert well. Also you have to remember that much of the traffic these days is mobile and you need to optimizing for it as well. One thing you also want to do is host the offer with a fast / reliable hosting company. I have actually seen about a 10% increase in coversion from this before.

One big advantage of having your own offer is that you will be able to get the highest payout, because you are selling the leads directly to the buyers. However, once you have a high converting offer, yolu can also get affiliates to run it. There are a lot of big affiliates capable of generating $10K-$100K+ per month in commissions and they are always looking for good converting offers.

In addition to being able to get a percentage of each lead an affiliate generates, you get to monetize all the thank you page traffic and you get a copy of all the leads generated by them, which you can monetize and keep 100% of the profits from both. If you don't have affiliates, you still get to monetize the tahank you page traffic.

You want to build this slowly, because you need to build up your cash reserves for paying affiliates. If a buyer is late paying or worse, doesn't pay...you still have to pay the affiliates and do it on-time. Never extend a buyer more than a week of credit and have tight terms on when they pay. So if you going Mon-Sun, you want them paying Tue or Wen and pay your affiliates Thur or Fri.

Now with new affiliates, you may not want to start them off paying weekly( but paying weekly is a must to keep them happy), just to make sure that they are not trying to submit a bunch of bogus leads, trying to rip you off.

Once you fully build out one offer and have it running, then build out another and another, etc... and you could potentially build a huge business that's not going anywhere, as lead generation will never go away.

Anyway, that should give you some basics.

I probably just went a bit to in-depth.

PPL is nothing more than a lead generation offer. Get a quote for life insurance, car insurance, mortgage, etc... Even a free sign-up to a dating site is a lead gen offer, as the dating site then needs to convert the free account to a paid account. The key being that all a user has to do is fill out a form to complete the offer, because it's not an offer to purchase anything. Whoever gets the lead, will then attempt to sell them.

The easiest way (as I stated in my other post) to find PPL offers, is to sign up to CPA networks.

Just keep in mind that while many PPL offers pay well, have mass appeal and covert well, you still have to be able to drive traffic to them. .

IM is just one marketplace among many thousands. I would suggest you focus on things other than IM . . . things that you have some expertise in . . . things that interest you . . . things that you can discuss with some authority. For you, the greatest opportunities lie outside IM since you say you have no expertise in IM right now.

One of the best advice here. Thanks Steve B. I'm currently working on a Language Tutorial product. How to sell and market it online is the second part of the battle though, so I still need to learn IM.

Hi, Gliridian. I think, no one can answer this better than you yourself. Ask yourself this question, opt a niche, and then never look back:
What are the things you are expert at (or have some know-how)? Identify few, write them on a piece of paper. Select one in which you are most expert at, and check the market whether people are really looking for solutions you are about to offer? If you miss this step, you lose.

There are no magic wands. If you opt for something you love and keep pushing hard, you will earn your first buck in no time. Out of hundreds of IM things, pick one you like the most, focus on it only, achieve mastery and the MONEY WILL COME to you. Period.
    Thanks

You need to start with the niche that you are interested in for long term success in any field. Then you need to find low competition high demand sub or micro niches within that niche. Then you need to think through your plan as to whether you can build your own product or act as an affiliate or both. Research, test and scale up...

Add my baritone to this choir.

I do believe that the reason so many newbies want to start affiliate marketing in the IM/MMO space is the sheer number of IM/MMO products, especially those dealing with affiliate marketing, end with some variation of:

There you have it. You now know how to make a bazillion dollars a day while you're drinking on the beach in front of your mansion while your bikini model girlfriend washes your Lambo. If you really want to get a fast start, grab your own affiliate link for this proven product you just finished and get going...

When said newbie learns that the mansion, the Lambo and the bikini model girlfriend are all rentals and selling in this space is harder than it looks, they come to places like this and start posting about how all the systems are a scam. Or they buy $7 wonder products until they max out their credit cards and complain about sellers of "rehashed crap".

Okay, a lot of it IS crap, but a lot is also repetition of basic principles which don't change. But when you read the same basic principles for the 147th time, and it doesn't sink in, you have to blame someone...

This is a very honest and on the spot advice. Yes, as a matter of fact, I'm not really that new in the IM space, just a little bit. I'm just lurking around it, studying stuff, bought some stuff too, and that was the reason why I became overwhelmed. Because there are lots of stuff out there and you're right, a lot of them are just rehashed materials from other IM people. Though, working to make things work is quite difficult if you have a full time job but I'm working on it. It is also the reason why I'm careful on what I buy.

You may not like my advice, but I will still give it.

Start off offering a service. Whatever skill you have (or can learn).

    Building sites, writing, etc.

Learn from the people who hire you.

My first gig was writing 50 articles on hamsters. Through that gig (and the others I did for him) I learned about membership sites (because I was providing the content), keyword research, sales pages, funnels, etc.

    Earn while you learn.

No, in the contrary I love your advice. I think this is rock solid advice. Very doable and more realistic than those who promised easy bucks.

In fact, I'm starting learning these skills, building sites, writing, etc. Since I'm an artist, I also do some freelance work from some clients as an illustrator. So basically I've earned my first bucks in the internet already. Not about IM though.

Thanks ShayRockhold, I'll follow your advice and I'll let you know what will happen. Cheers!

If you have no will of your own...maybe.

OP, contrary to what all the "experts" suggest DO NOT start by selling your time for pennies.

DO NOT start by building a website and spending all your time and money trying to get Google to index it.

These are the long, slow, hard way with no guarantee you will ever make a dime.

You don't need to know everything to get started.

Start with simple things like creating a blog about something you are passion about. Making your first content and doing promotion will give you experience, step by step is the key, you can learn while doing it.

Once you have some traffic you can start doing some affiliate sales, building an email list, creating your own funnel, etc.

You don't need everything, start with the basic and make a blog with a niche you like. It doesn't really matter what kind of niche, anything is ok because you can find things to do or promote on any niche. Yes, someone could be better than other but those have lots of competition for obvious reasons while on the other hand, you can make insane results with the other niche who no one is doing.

Thanks Nico, this is a great advice too. I'm currently working on a project right now. Though they say that while working on your own niche product, build your list at the same time, then do some marketing, etc. I think this part is quite overwhelming for me coz I don't really have some path to follow. But I'm doing things as I move along. Though quite slowly coz I have work... How about you, how do you do it?

************ THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS THIS. *******

1 Choose a niche: evergreen niche like weight loss, etc, a sub niche and check in keyword tool of Google, Audience Insight of Facebook if there are people looking for it, and check also on Clickbank / Udemy if there are products, courses to promote or sell.

2 Build an Opt In Page (choose Leadpages, it's simple and VERY powerful, it supports all the traffic and you dont need an hosting)

3 Choose an Autoresponder (choose ActiveCampaign, it supports automation and it's cheap), and build a funnel of emails for nurturing, provide content, and promote affiliate products too.

4 Choose a source of traffic: Fb Ads is simple and effective for newbies. It's also cheaper than google ads.

You know what TrickyDIck, when Eric Louviere said that it's The Best Damn Internet Marketing Book Ever Written, he was not lying! I just finished reading it and I can't thank you enough for leading me to him. It was a great read. I mean, it's the definitive guide for IM! And he wrote it in a way that it's easy to understand for anyone. The language he used is no nonsense, and he hit me hard to some points there. I think my level in his description is still Newbie, but I want to accelerate to Advanced level. So I'll read it and will refer to it regularly. I've learned a lot from the book. He made IM easy to understand, of course IM is not easy to do but he made it easy to understand. I'm not also bored by it, I kept reading it until I;m done! In fact I'm going to print it right now so I can refer to it take notes and write to it easily. Damn it's really a good read. To every newbie out there like me I highly recommend this book. It's all you need to understand IM. (but of course you need to learn the details of, let's say, traffic or conversion somewhere else but this one makes everything clear.) Thanks again TrickyDick. Cheers!

I know exactly what you are going through. I floundered around for years buying this product, that WSO, this traffic guide. What did it get me? Frustrated! Overwhelmed! Confused!

What did I do? I got myself a coach. Athletes do it. Financial people do it. Most professions have a coach to guide you.

A word of caution - It may be difficult to find a good one. I would start by looking above at some of the answers that some of these fine warriors gave to you. Most were very good. Follow their posts and if one rings true with you, ask them if they have a coaching program and follow what they tell you.

It may not make sense some of the stuff they tell you but stick with it without looking to the left or right and it WILL make sense and you will start to make money.

As I read your message my friend, this really hit something deep in me. I felt your sincerity. I felt you understood where I was coming from. You still remember your starting days and never forgot the lessons from those early days. That is one of the reasons some people are harder to relate to because they forgot the time when they were just starting their journey in this IM thing.

Yes, I'm taking your advice moneymax, I'll get a coach. Though, until now, I don't know who to follow. I guess I just have to look around. And like what you said, if there's someone doing that rings true to me, follow that guy. Ok, I'll keep looking. Thanks again brother.

I didn't read all the way down the thread, but something that I think will help, something that I wish I would have done sooner is pick one traffic source and become REALLY good at it. There are products launched every week that tell you to use a different traffic source or the latest trendy clever traffic tip. You can get lost in the woods really quick. If you take to heart all the advice on choosing a niche, there will probably be a traffic source that stands out when it comes to reaching out to the buyers in your niche. I would start on that traffic source and become an expert in it.

What helped me among many things was this excellent report by Paul Myers - TalkBiz News: What you really need to know to succeed online - Online business building newsletter - It will give you the whole picture so you can start taking action rather than getting bits and pieces from everywhere and trying to put the pieces together.

    All the best.

Hi War Wizard, this looks like very promising. Just finished reading the main page. I'll start reading the book now. Thanks for this.

First nothing to sell here, and nothing to buy.

There is a SECRET, which I'm about to share. The secret?

GET fast results, make money in 30 days.

You can and will read scores of Warrior stories about how they chased shiny objects, bought WSO after WSO and spent years before the money flowed. I've always challenged their advice to newbs when they say it takes years of floundering and learning.

    NO it doesn't.

Here is a 30 day plan to your first dollar and gaining the knowledge you build a foundation on. In an A-Z fashion.

    A) Get a cheap website. Prefer you get one with a free domain for first year, and the DOMAIN NAME does NOT matter. Quit wasting time trying to come up with a domain. The host should have CPanel and Softaculous.

    B) Get Dropbox. FREE.

    C) Get mailchimp. FREE.

    D) Watch videos in the CPanel on how to use it, mostly focus on the Files, where you can upload pics and use the WYSIWYG html editor. Forget abpout Wordpress for now, you can always install that later IF you decide to use it.

    E) Get PayPal and/or stripe for payments.

Now, you have a place to post a PROMOTION and a way to accept payment.

Then you need something to sell and/or a Capture page to begin building a list of prospects. Use the free templates for now in Mailchimp to create a simple form, a sign up page. What are they signing up for?

Offer a free report, IF you have a subject and the fastest "niche" to choose from is from one in which you already participate and know about. Do you know golf, bowling, MMA, cooking, travel, writing...it really doesn't matter at this point. Something you know about or look at your most recent purchases, there could be your starting point.

The object is use 2 hours a day for 30 days to get started and to try to SELL SOMETHING. Recently fellow Warrior Barb Ling brought in over $4.000.00 dollars through her offer of a simple ONE PAGE report, she had a dime sale, I paid 3.77 for it and was/am a satisfied customer.

It shows you don't have to spend a lot of time to create something you can SELL. If you can't create a one page Hotsheet (cheatsheet), then look to PLR.

Tons of that offered here, find some plr in your niche, whatever it is, to use to either give away to capture names and or to sell.

Use your WF sig file to start promoting and maybe a classifed ad here or a WSO. IF you are going to sell to Warriors, get the Warrior Payment account.

Also, join as many FACEBOOK groups as you can regarding the niche. Also search social media you are involved in.

SEE, this process is one which gives you a FAST START, you focus on LEARNING the basic tools of IM

You need a PRODUCT to sell (and a service can be your product).
You need a PROMOTION, you have to create an Intersection where your
PROSPECT can meet you and learn about your offer.

Then, the secret sauce to the whole thing...TARGETED EYEBALLS.
TRAFFIC, but traffic with an interest in what you have.

You can buy traffic, use social media to try to generate traffic, use affiliate marketing to get and build traffic.

IF you begin with a simple PROCESS which has you focus on

Who is my ideal PROSPECT (people like me interested in cooking rabbits)
Who may want my PRODUCT (101 recipes for rabbit stew, first, catch the rabbit)
And who will find my PROMOTION via (ads, links, participation)

NOW you have the foundation of any and all future IM projects you do, without the flounder, the spinning of the wheels, the chasing of rainbows and unicorns, the making gurus richer...

A PROCESS which is repeatable and saves years of time IF you follow the Warriors who took years to be successful (because that is what they know)...

And one which puts RESULTS, cold hard cash in your hand in weeks not years.

Keep it simple, and you can probably do it all with that last 50 bux you have because you spent all your money chasing silliness and a greener pasture made green with horse manure...which you have already squished between your ever seeking toes.

Try a tested and proven process for 30 days to get a foundation built, then scale out from there.

    GordonJ

PS. Or don't. Your time, spend how you like.

Best advice is to build a list and focus on that for long term income. It's what I always recommend. But keep calm, everyone needs to start somewhere.

This is the reason why so many give up before seeing success.

All you need is something to sell and someone to sell it to.

A good start might be to learn Wordpress and affiliate marketing
Keep it simple and use Fiverr for things such as logos and graphics.

You must have some money to invest, it can't be done for nothing but can be done sensibly if you are careful.

    Hi, gliridian!
Let me give you the piece of advice.
You created an account two years ago, but still struggling with learning.
You problem has nothing to do with learning.

This is what comes to be known as a shiny object syndrome. Google it and try to get rid of it - stick to one thing, one strategy, one website.

    Good luck!

This is one of those excellent threads that really give an insight into so many ways and opinions of doing something. I would read through and take notes and work out which advice you feel most comfortable and interested in following, then stick with it. I know I for one am going to read and digest some of the replies very carefully.

    Hi Everyone!

Thank you, Thank you for all of your posts. I really, really appreciate it. It's a blessing for me to have found this forum. There are a lot of big hearted, like minded people around here who are willing to share and willing to just give so much value in the world.

For that I really thank you.

I'm blessed because I was born in a time that all of these are possible thanks because of technology. We dissolve geography and able to communicate in the speed of thought. This is a lucky and abundant time for us.

That's why it would be a waste if we not become rich. I know it's not an excuse to be poor or to be in a third world country or English as not the primary language or that parents don't support or don't know anyone personally who does IM. Technology also dissolves all of that excuses. That's why I'll do everything to be rich and to share and to give value to the world. Because I know by being rich I can enrich others as well and what seems impossible before are now possible.

Thanks for helping each other to get each other's goals.

I'm overwhelmed (in a good way) by the quality of the posts here and the time that you give just to post here. I would like to answer or respond to all of your posts here. But I want to give it my whole thought and really understand what you are saying and give time and thought to my reply so give me time to reply a quality reply as well. (Sorry guys because I'm super busy coz I'm working with a lot of things and I only check this whenever I have time) I want the convo that's happening here to be really of quality.

    Keep it coming!

I would like to thank everyone and put everyone's name here in this post by which you're tagged or something but I don't know how to do it yet. Anyway, to everyone who is contributing to this thread --Thank You for helping me (and others) in their IM journey.

I'm starting to making sense of it all. In fact, I think I have a solid idea on how I'll do this. It is something that resonates to my personality and to what I believe I can offer to the world.

But I'm still starting it. I'll see, if this will be successful. I'll post my progress in the coming days, months, years here to help others as well. (Or maybe peppered on other threads as well)

But I'll post my every milestone once I've got all the parts figured out. I have an idea, but it is still forming that's why I can't post it yet here. But once I made even just a little success from it. I'll share it here.

    Again Thanks Everyone!

Cheers! For our Dreams! (that sounds cheesy but I mean it)

    Learn copywriting first.

    Thats the bread winner.

It convinces people to join your list.
It allows you to sell other people's products while you're making your own.
Helped me recruit affiliates and JVs when i launched products.
It helps when negotiating a price drop.
Even helped me get a girlfriend. (I'm only half joking when i say this)

Master copywriting and you'll never go hungry.
