Can affiliates links be stolen?

Honestly, if someone is going to steal your content, they are going to change your link to their own so that they get paid.

I have had issues with "affiliate article hunters", who go out hunting for articles that they want to use on their site, and they will copy all of the content, rewrite a bit of it so that it isn't identical, and put their own link in.

As far as you getting hit for TOS violations, you should really watch out for yourself, and if this odd scenario does happen, you can contact the company and show that your content was stolen. They may not listen to you, but in all honesty, when I've had content "stolen", or copied, they changed out my link for their own.

You should be fine, so long as the one stealing isn't a complete idiot and leaves your link in their.

Of course, if someone really just wanted to ruin you, they would steal your link, cloaked or not, and spam it everywhere to get your link noticed as a violation of agreement, and your account would be dealt with accordingly.

You know, the entire web is being curated all the time-there is no such thing as 100% original content, it is all the result of cross breeding, reading widely and borrowing ideas. If someone lifts an entire page then good luck to them, they won't get far, the source of ideas and the intelligence to write cannot be stolen, but links can be re-directed and pasted over - using a link management system helps like Prettylink for WordPress, or one of those PHP link management applications (there are many available)

In 14+ years of doing affiliate marketing and having ran over 100 affiliate websites I have never been banned from a network for stolen content or sales generated from those links.

It's just not something to worry about. 9 out of 10 times that content will never be found online. If it is then it's probably from a bot.

I have had sites suspended from Adwords for duplicate content but that was a really long time ago. Adwords has mostly gotten over the fact of duplicate content for Adwords now.

Point is. I would not even have this on my radar.

If they steal my COMPLETE aff code and send traffic to it.... PLEASE go ahead and steal them LOL

However, if they steal the CONTENT I wrote to sell affiliate products, that's another matter entirely.

They could hack into your site and replace your affiliate links with their own. Now that's something I would be worried about.

I think a frank discussion backed up with proof would help the case. It also depends on the relationship the affiliate has with the network.

I think some sites like click-sure will allow you to do this. No problem but site like Amazon will not allow you to do that. it vary site to sites. Thanks
