It's difficult to get going on a low budget, but it is possible if you are not in a hurry and really stick with it through thick and thin..

Get a cheap one website account with Hostgator, buy a cheap domain name, with your name in it if possible, from Namecheap, install Wordpress with a free responsive theme and start a blog.

Get on the lists of all the top marketers, learn how they do things and what they sell.

Get content from the web, rewrite in your own style and post on your blog.

Do blog commenting on other top blogs.

This is not everything, but it is a brief outline of how you might get going.

The most important thing is your mindset and not giving up

Welcome on board...

Fact is, you need a combination of skills and resources to make this happen.
These two things can draw into days, weeks or months, years depending on how fast you learn, adapt and apply.

Gone are the days when you build a site and you start getting free traffic without lifting a finger. I'm not saying this is not possible for lesser markets but you will need to do some extras to achieve your income goal.

There are lots of resources to help you get started on the net and affiliate marketing..

1. You need to find a good product. Something with demand and some reasonable amount of traffic. You need to pick your keywords wisely..

2. Build a site around it with quality written content.
Setup an opt in to capture your visitors email and follow up with them.

3. There are various traffic method you may apply such as paid traffic like PPC, video, blogging, forums, SEO, classified ads e.t.c..

This is not something that can be learnt in one sitting...

It pays to enrol in an online marketing course or coaching program.. The search engine is your handy friend and YouTube.

There are sites like Lydia or so that teaches you about IM and other related things.

Some people who do not have funds to invest have gone as far as doing freelancing or other business models to raise funds and promote their business.

Jowel,

Most of us felt or, maybe, some find themselves in the same situation as you are.

I would suggest you to check your skills.

1. Do you have digital skills? (design, website creation, social media market,etc)
2. Find out what you are good at and search if there is a demand in the market.
3. If there is and people are willing to buy, stick to it.
4. Bookmark or pocket links for your new area of expertise.
5. Learn more and get better day by day.
6. Believe in you!
7. Don't give up, but put your family first ALWAYS!
8. Read books every day at least 30 min per day.
9. Track everything you do daily(very important).
10. If you're down some time, remember there is a place for each of us in this world.
You've got to be UNIQUE (and of course you are unique like each one), just to be YOU and be wiling to help and to find solutions for humans pain points.

The difference between success and failure is our own believe system.

First of all you must realize that success will not come overnight. Put goal how much money you wanna start making online, lets say you wanna make 50$ per day as example. Then you wanna pick a plan and start taking everyday actions towards achieving your goal. There are many ways you can start making money with: video marketing, article marketing, etc. Pick up plan and stick to it until you will rich your goal. Hope this advice will help :-) Cheers

There are a lot of ideas that one can use or focus on to make money online. However, most people don't succeed because we spread ourselves thin. The way to go is to research and decide on one idea, then put all your effort to making it work.

I think have more option to make money from online. You need to identify which part is good for you and you experienced. Then you can choose which market place is good for you and also your country. Because i see some types of online job not get more benefits by all countries, like survey job.

To make money from affiliate marketing you need an audience. A big audience.

That is your #1 priority.

Find a way to build an audience while making money doing so - you will need to invest but you should be making a profit from building a list, a Facebook following and a blog audience (the three best engagement tools) . Primarily from your own products

Then, when you have your audience that knows you, likes you and - *important* - trusts you,
you can start recommending products (good stuff not launch junk) and make a very good income.

Hi...you surely need to have blog first. Then, write some IM articles (you can use PLR as inspiration) and then start being active in groups, fan pages, blogs and forum. Dont forget to put your affiliate banner and link.good luck!

No need to over complicate things and alot of marketers will do that to you. Keep it simple. Supply and demand is number 1. then get traffic and convert that traffic and you make commissions. You don't need a website or landing page or any of the other stuff people pitch you. Of course having your own custom sales funnel you are leveraging your marketing efforts but is it an absolute must? NO In fact I promote my affiliate link to cold traffic to see how the page converts for me. One I know the product is good and makes me money sure I will then take it a step further and build a list beause a certain pecent will buy after they have seen you and the offer a few times.

I also haven't had great success with affiliate marketing, which is why I just created my own products.

There have already been fine advice given by warriors on this thread. I would say to really take some time to write down (actually write down on paper) what your skills, passions, and interests are. Then start searching around online to see what others are doing in this niche. Some ideas may come as to how you may provide something unique or at least a unique way of doing something.

You should probably setup a fanpage on facebook (that's free) until you are able to get a website/domain name/etc.

If you know how to work in the IM section, of course you will be able to earn a good amount of money, there is no doubt about it. To earn money form the IM section, you need to learn more & more. On the flip side if you do not know how to work here, you will not able to earn a single amount of money. Your expectation need to be increased.

I understand your situation now as my family used to experience that when I was in high school. In short-term, you could go out and look for a job, so at least you can sustain your family, any job you can get. Then if you are interested in making money online, you can learn SEO and offer websites' owners your service. Or if you have a unique idea to build a website and know how to code, or you can even hire someone to code for you, then increase traffic for your site and run google adsense. Of course it's tough and takes a lot of time, effort and patience. But hard work always pays off. You can have a look at these adsense earners, top site rank and apps developers to have motivation. Just do it

Kindle Publishing is the way to go.

Affiliate marketing is not for newbies for many reasons...It is way more complicated than it seems. You have to bring traffic, convert that traffic, etc etc. It is a long term process.

Kindle publishing is the easiest and fastest way to make money online that I know off. You can also start with literally zero $. Took me a few months to quit my job in finance and do this full time.

You can also do affiliate marketing with kindle. You build a back-end and send offer to your list....With kindle Amazon brings the traffic for you though.

Newbies underestimate how hard it is to get traffic all the time. People that sell affiliate marketing programs go crazy every time I tell the truth but it is what it is. Affiliate marketing is just not a method for newbies. I mean, it could be but it will take a lot of time before you make money.

Other than Kindle Publishing, if you want to make money quickly you should trade your time for money; Sell a gig on Fiverr, sell a service on Upwork etc.

It sounds like you're at a point where any advice given wont solve your problems overnight.

Get rich quick does not exist. And if it does, you shouldn't be looking for it. Take accountability for the actions you've took in life, and start with a fresh mindset. Get a good online business and marketing course, and start from there - and believe in yourself.

I don't know you but you can start a blog or a youtube channel about a passion you have, you need to love what you are doing otherwise this will not work, if you think about the money from day one it will be for nothing.

If you love what you do, you can create awesome and unique content but also interact with your audience where all of them have the same passion as you. Then you can think about how you can make money and turn it into a business, don't limit yourself saying "this niche isn't good enough" you can make money from any niche, the right niche is the one you love or want to learn.

The fastest way to start making money online is to start writing content for people or websites. You can use that money to invest into a domain and hosting. Affiliate marketing is still very effective with a blog targeted toward a big audience while building a list in that niche at the same time. You want choose a niche that has a lot of products you can advertise.

With the minimal investments of a domain name and hosting, you can start your own online business. I would highly recommend building a Facebook Fanpage that caters around your site.

Also, strike up a give and take relationship with other people in your niche. Meaning, there are skills you can offer to others, or take up the initiative to offer help to people that might need it in your niche. Great things usually stem out from this

Become obsessed with traffic, getting people to your blog, offers, social media etc is the most important thing to build your business. Research the best traffic tools and decide which one(s) you are going to focus on and just learn and do that consistently until it works, just don't give up after a couple of weeks like most do.

I've made a few hundred dollars with affiliate marketing over the years, but it wasn't something I enjoyed. Therefore, I didn't put in the necessary effort and resources to make it a truly lucrative business for me. Some people truly enjoy affiliate marketing, and can make an excellent income with it. I believe it all comes down to following your passion. If you're doing what you love, the money will follow, with much more ease than if you're doing something you don't enjoy. This isn't to say something you like won't take work....it will. It just won't seem as much like work to you because you love it.

I've since found several other ways of making money online that I actually love. These are the methods I've put my time and resources into, once I discovered them, and they are the methods that make me a full-time online income now.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that my advice to you is to find something you really enjoy doing. You'll start making money because you'll put in the necessary time, effort, and resources, and it will not seem like work....it will be fun for you.

However, payments from borrowers go directly to my PayPal business account, and since I'm in the Philippines, it takes 2 to 3 banking days on average for the money in my PayPal account to clear in my local bank account (we don't have PayPal debit cards here) ...

So, what I do most of the time is shell out more money to buy bitcoins locally once all my loan offers are taken by borrowers, and before the money clears in my bank account (I of course make it a point to withdraw it and wait for 24 hours or so before I buy bitcoins again) ...

Yeah, those are the results of my tests in this platform from June to the 3rd week of Aug this year ...

Test it out and see for yourself -- XCoins.IO

BUT ...

I think these are some things that you might be missing:

1. With opportunities like this comes saturation -- I'm sure you know that bitcoins is a demand-driven digital currency (that's very volatile);

2. You don't have full control over your money in this secured bitcoin lending platform -- More lenders also require the site to spend more on advertising so as to drive more borrowers, which puts the main control over your money in the hands of a third party; and

3. Since the site is designed to entice borrowers to also become lenders, and also since the genral bitcoin market would most likely have more lenders and sellers than borrowers and buyers when the current bitcoin-fiat value down-trend continues -- This could most likely drive down interest percentages of lenders in this platform, just so they can loan out their bitcoins within a reasonable time frame that could make them turn in a profit (especially with the volatility of bitcoin fiat value) ...

Now, considering those 3 points:

a) In the first few weeks this month (Aug) -- Bitcoin fiat value has gone way down (it was playing at an average of $680 to $720 per bitcoin back in June, then went down to $630 to $670 in July, but now it's just $570 to $590); and

b) Movement of my bitcoin loan offers in this platform began to significantly slow down late this month -- My $3K of bitcoins, which I managed to loan out completely at a 20% to 25% interest on average in less than 24 hours (plus 2 to 3 business days for PayPal withdrawal clearance in my local bank account), were loaned out so far on average in 5 to 7 days (plus the 2 to 3-business day PayPal withdrawal clearance) at 10% to 15% interest on average (faster during weekdays US time, and slowest during weekends US time) ...

So, when this trend continues (and if this platform doesn't pick up in terms of the results of their advertising campaigns to drive more borrowers, but I won't hold my breath, at least not until bitcoin-fiat valuation picks up significantly any time soon) -- I think there'll come a time where the continuing downward bitcoin-fiat value might eat up your interest profits because of the time it takes for you to loan out your bitcoin loan offers (mainly because there'd most likely be more lenders than borrowers in this site, as well as more lenders and sellers than borrowers and buyers in the general bitcoin market primarily due to the continuing bitcoin-fiat value down-trend) ...

Well, those are the main problems. Another major risk is:

** Dependency of this platform on PayPal as the payment processor that will be used by borrowers to pay the fiat collateral and fiat interest of lenders and the fiat loan origination fee of this site -- PayPal could have a change of heart (read: changes to their Acceptable Use Policy) any time, which simply means this opportunity would disappear when this happens, because that's the biggest borrower come-on of this platform ...

So, like I said in my first post on this thread -- There are always risks in any investment, so it's all about risk management, even if you're practically selling money at marked-up prices ...

[EDIT]Also, I think I had the right timing when I tested this out this June -- Bitcoin production is cut in half every 4 years (from the time it was introduced to the public), and this year is the 4th year in this current 4-year period; and

At that time, I guessed that people will start buying bitcoins because they'd also be most likely guessing that bitcoin-fiat valuation will increase due to this 4-year rule. So, with a demand-driven digital currency, especially a limited one, I think more buyers meant higher valuation. However:

I think those who invested were mostly new bitcoin day traders, which is probably why they're now selling their bitcoins, possibly because they can't have their investments wait and sit idle for a long time ...

Regarding Marx Vergel Melencio's post about Bitcoin lending, I am a member of the same site where he is lending bitcoin, but the current rate of return is only 15% - not the 20 to 25% he discusses in his post. That being said, 15% is still a very handsome return on your money, but you need to educate yourself on the risks involved in this type of peer to peer bitcoin lending. There is definitely money to be made - but there are scammers on that site and every other site where BTC trading occurs. Some of the lenders on that particular are reporting up to 10% losses due to fraudulent chargebacks and reversals by the borrowers.

Make sure you educate yourself if you intend to start lending or trading Bitcoin!

I'm not implying anything. I'm simply saying:

Your results are your own, and my results are my own, so make that clear, and don't go around saying (or coming across) that your results are the only results you can get from anything that you and others can freely do with their own resources, networks, skills and experience; and

I explained in detail in my posts in this thread, in my posts in other threads, and in the page linked by my sig that:

I got my results from the months of June, July and early August this year, back when the site's lowest interest rate was pegged at 5% -- Were you using the site then?; and

I first started with $250 of bitcoins as a test, then quickly ramped up my tests to $3K of bitcoins -- Were your tests the same during the same time?; and

I create offers for $10 min to $30 max for borrowers with 1 to 2 ratings at 25% interest, $10 to $30 for borrowers with 3 to 5 ratings at 20% interest, $31 to $50 for borrowers with 1 to 2 ratings at 20% interest, $31 to $50 for borrowers with 3 to 5 ratings at 15%; and

$51 to $200 for borrowers with 3 to 5 ratings at 25% interest, $201 to $500 for borrowers with 3 to 5 ratings at 20% interest, and $501 to $1000 for borrowers with 3 to 5 ratings at 15% to 20% (I change this whenever fiat value of bitcoins goes up significantly, based on the sources of bitcoins where I buy it from and in the site where I lend it out) ...

And, I buy bitcoins from 11AM to 2PM Mon to Fri and from 8PM to 11PM Sun GMT+8 because fiat value of bitcoins goes a bit down at my sources; and

I activate my lending offers from 10PM to 3AM Mon to Fri GMT+8, 6AM to 11AM Mon to Fri GMT+8, and 6AM to 11AM Sat and Sun GMT+8 ...

So, did you do that EXACTLY?; and

I have NEVER had a reversed payment from borrowers -- Do you have the EXACT SAME experience?

There are lots of ways to earn money online but trust me nothing is less then hard. You should go for typing jobs online or blogging is also awesome way to earn money but it takes time.
You should also check out online form filling jobs and sms sending jobs etc.

Millionaires are made and created everyday, from doing this simple thing.

If you have been online months, and years, and have not started building a list.....well that is why you income is -$0 .....

Its very powerful, and do not listen to people who say it doesnt work.

You can even build a list and a gathering on facebook for $0....having friends and followers is the same as having a subscriber in your email database.

Being a single dad of 3 I'm sure isn't easy. Earlier a guy said to come back when you have a job. While that is a good idea there might be a better way, if you're willing to take some risks. You can buy a ready made web business at Empire Flippers. I bought one from there. It is an affiliate marketing site and I frigging love it! It makes money all day and night. You might want to chat that site out. Think of it like this. Would you rebuild your transmission in your car? I know I wouldn't. I'd let a pro do it and pay them. Same concept. Buy the hard work of someone else.

I would like to help you. I have access to a dedicated server and can create a Wordpress website for you if you are truly motivated and have the time to develop the site as I don't have a lot of free time. I can give you free hosting until February of next year and training in how to create content. I do this and earn pretty well: write both fiction and non-fiction books. Sell them on Amazon Kindle. Build websites, promote them in my books, sell things on websites, too.

Well it depends what are your interests. Do you like Freelancing? For starters it's an excellent transition into making money online. Just find out the things you're good at and bid on those projects. Build up your profile by getting good recommendations from freelance employers and then expand your skill sets into other avenues.

So I just want to give you some direct ways that you can put money in your pocket to start your online business. If you get some income you can afford to wait on your blogging to take off or sell Affiliate stuff But Here are some suggestions I wish you much prosperity..
Consider which of your talents might be worth a few extra bucks and then go out there and do it. You can offer a paid service

Become a Virtual assistant
Offer to post ads for online marketers
Submit ads to classified ad sites
Create YouTube Videos for businesses.

Go to your local real estate office and ask them how much they will pay you to hang those door hangers or distribute their literature

Become a JV partner with a Warrior who is selling a high ticket item for offline businesses. Offer their service in your area. When the business signs up, you get a percentage of the sale. You can reach your local businesses that may not be online.

Become a website monitor for the warriors.
Some warriors have hundreds of websites.

Best way to make money online is affiliate marketing. you can make huge profit if you know the right technique. choose a right program for affiliate marketing. maybe IM isn't for you..

..its not easy and it does require skills in several fields:

-content creation

-sales copy

-basic html

-data analysis

-relationship building

-content promotion

I believe 'most' are better off finding a job if they can't put in the work and time to learn this craft.

If you have to work (yes, it's work. Don't fool yourself) without a monetary budget you'll have to invest you time budget.

If you are going to work with affiliate marketing you'll need traffic.

And you'll need to research good products to promote. Working so hard just to drive traffic to products that convert poorly is crushing.

There are many ways to start getting leads but they all derive from just one thing:

Content!

See what kind of content you can produce (writing, coding, video production, drawing, tutorials...) and create blog posts with it on free platforms like Blogger.

Make interesting videos about your choose niche (you can use free software like Movie Maker or even Powerpoint) and post them on YouTube and other video sites.

Contact blog owners to offer your content to them as guest posts. Many will say no, many will say yes.

Explore Facebook, Slideshare and Instagram.

Choose ways to work that you are comfortable with and, with time, go out of your comfort zone doing other things. It may take weeks or months but if don't give up you'll learn new things daily and eventually see results.

Once you do have results, analyze what worked, try to make it better. Don't give up if your first results fail. They usually do, but what you've learned stay forever.

@Jowel2012 - Since you are rich in time (and not in cash reserves) you should try SEVERAL different free traffic sources to the offers you are promoting and TRACK all of them. Work out where the sales are coming from and then do more work on what is generating results. If you are in a niche that lends itself to it you should build a list at the same time as it will give you leverage on your past efforts. When you do start making money, don't go mad with retail therapy. Instead invest at least a portion of it back into PAID traffic. Nothing is ever really free - if it costs you nothing, it's using up the one resource that isn't renewable and that's time. As your income increases, your time will become more valuable and you have to place a value upon it.

I am starting a directory that I thought would just hit the ground running. It is a different approach on directories. My advice is in your free time, learn, learn, learn and research. Saving costs means you have to do a lot of things. I went that route. It's not easy. It takes time. But it is doable. Lastly, you can have the best idea ever, you still need to get an audience. Focus on a solution to a problem, go from there.

Information overwhelm is common for internet-marketing newbies.

The best solution is to write down your aims, strengths/weaknesses and situation (in terms of money and time to invest, etc.), then use those criteria to narrow-down which methods might be suitable.

For example, if you are an introvert, then doing off-line service sales, where you have to cold-call and persuade people to buy, is not a good choice for you to start with.

For example, if you have little money to invest, then paid-traffic methods won't be possible for you.

You need to understand that LESS IS MORE . . . the more you can narrow-down your choices, the BETTER! Weaknesses are a GOOD thing in this context . . . if you are useless as a salesman, great, that's a whole bunch of methods that you can ignore for now.

Another example . . . for me personally, I don't want a job, I want a business (something that can be either outsourced or sold), so methods which require my own time, long-term, are not suitable, so I can ignore them, and focus on what does align with my aims.

Using those criteria, narrow down your choices until you find the most suitable method for yourself, right now, so you can focus on that. Then just keep learning, ask specific questions here and learn.

A quick point on affiliate marketing . . . a newbie might assume that higher-priced products are better because they pay more. This is incorrect . . . it's EPC that matters (how much money you earn, per visitor you send). Or might assume that a 100% ClickBank affiliate payout is better than a 4% Amazon payout . . . in fact, Amazon is MUCH easier to earn money with as a newbie, because they are VERY good at converting traffic . . . some Amazon pages tell you that 70% of people that visit that page, buy the product. Compare that with typical ClickBank conversion rates of under 1%, and do the math !! These things you need to think through logically and completely, so you really understand what matters, then test, ask questions, improve

Successful internet marketing is a Journey not a destination.
It is not something that will happen quickly. All the "overnight successes" put in hours , days,weeks and even years learning the business before they became overnight sensations.
The main thing is to believe you can and you will.
But you have to put in the work You have to develop your self as well as your business.
Be willing to invest in yourself and your business. You should by a few courses and read self improvement and motivation material as often as possible.
If you don't have the money..find it!
Do handyman work ,go on Fiverr and sell any technical skill you may have, eat out a few times less a month etc...
If you want it bad enough make it happen.
Build you up as you build your business.
Be Patient Be Teachable Be Consistent and things will begin to happen.
This is the best advise I can think of for you at this point.
As a side note, If you really just need a few dollars asap look into freebie trading. You can usually earn $30 -$100 in about an hour. Paid nearly instantly through PayPal.

You need a little backup before you start, because nothing comes for free. So before you jump into it, save first.

Then start studying. You can find a lot of quality information even on youtube, but I would suggest to go to Udemy (they even have coupons, so don't get a heart attack when you see something for $200, it can reduce to a really small amount

Find something that interest you, make a blog around it. Post daily. Connect your blog to social media platforms. Monetize your blog.

Get into forums.

Make money online is a difficult way, not easy like you imagine. You must keep patient and figure out a lots. This is two way i suggest for you:

First, you create a website and get a huge traffic and register your website with Adsense, Popads, Popcash

Second, you can make money online with affiliate marketing, you sell a product for vendors and you will get comission from them

There are endless options you can choose from, as you can see from all the posts above, however you need to simply pick one and go all-in.

Find something that works, that you know people are making money from, and just do it. Figure it out.

It'll take time and work, but that's the only way to make money.
