Putting up a salespage and driving traffic is not enough.

There is an art to making sales online. There are a combination of elements which must work together to compel visitors to take action.

Here's a few tips:

Have an Irresistible Offer - Just saying "buy my product" is not good enough. If it were, we'd all be rich. We must offer something they need, they must have, they'd even pay a lot more to have. Solutions to problems work best. Giving them an incredible value is even better. Under promise and over deliver. Find a solution to their immediate problem, then offer an overwhelming great solution at a bargain price. That's key in the art of the deal.

Clearly Communicate - Many salespages make the pitch muddled or confusing. Less is more. Information alone does not compel. Simply and succinctly spell out the problem, and describe your exact solution. This connects the dots in the visitors mind a lot quicker.

Use Triggers - People are predictable, and respond to psychological and emotional triggers in largely the same way. Use the right triggers to help compel your visitors to take your recommended actions, e.g. optin or buy.

Create Mood - People are emotional and almost universally respond to colors, fonts and images in predictable ways. Sales are made on emotion. Use the right elements on your salespage to create the emotion you want, e.g. fear, greed, vanity, happiness etc.

Be a Copy Cat - Yes, be yourself, but don't try to reinvent the wheel. Most of the time there's already another successful marketing in your niche selling a similar product/service. Use their salespage as inspiration for yours. You can learn a lot, and save yourself time and frustration by simply using their salespage as a template for your own.

Be Open Minded - Often we have preconceived ideas about how good our salespage is, when in fact we may be missing critical elements. We may have blindspots because we think we are right, or our marketing is 'good enough.' Be objective and evaluate your results. If you're not getting the results you want, then be willing to make changes. Don't get so in love with your own video, voice, copy, graphics, etc that you're not willing to scrap it and use something else. Results are what you want, not just a pretty salespage.
