Best Affiliate Marketing Programs

I have just started doing some affiliate marketing and while i was just browsing some of the affiliate marketing blogs, i came across this statement that left me a bit puzzled and i need your advise.

The statement said, "The bottom line in affiliate marketing is this: It takes the same amount of time and energy to promote a product that pays $500 than it does to promote a product that pays you $29"

I was wondering how true is this?

      LOL.

I suspect it is generally true, but perhaps the more important thing is to find what works for you, and it would help if you actually like the thing you promote, at least like it more than not like it. But if it only pays a few pennies or few dollars, then I would guess it is probably a huge waste of time unless you have access to a rare kind of traffic.

That is true, but there are many other factors you need to consider when deciding what program you will promote...

Yes, price point is one of them but also how good (or bad) is that specific programs online reputation? How long since that specific program has launched?

You can make a case for choosing what program to promote starting at price point, but make sure not to stop there.

But remember many times the $29 product will have OTO2 OTO1 and upsells that will be $500 or more

    Something to think about

Sure, the possibility that this quote states is 100% true, but.... the actual practically of making $500 sales FAST as rapidly that you can make with a $29 sale is amazingly stretching the truth.

No maybe it all depends on your performance. I mean the time and energy that you dedicate to promote the product will determine the price that you will get for rendering the service. Say for example you'll get a certain percentage. Meaning if you were able to sell this much you'll get your rightful percentage of the whole sales. So it is important that you give an extra amount of effort on everything that you do.

Better you choose evergreen popular products . while selecting product for promoting filter it based on sale popularity.
and sometimes we also get success if we find a product which is new and you start promoting firstly then your site or blog can rank high.

I would suggest youtube n bing ads are best for promoting affiliates products now a days.

  • That's true but not all the time. If you've found an expensive product that converts well then it's easier to promote it. Most of the time, you also need to offer bonuses to your subscribers for buying expensive products as this is also one way to sell an expensive product easily.

    I would test it.

My core business involves generating leads, because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. So conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a purchase.

So I don't have the experience that others do in selling IM / MMO products. However, based on the experience I do have, the first thing that comes to my mind is...

How many people can afford a $500 product? Where most everyone can afford $29. So I would expect conversion rates to be significantly lower with a $500 product, just by how much?

If your ROI is higher with a $29 product, because you get much higher conversions, then why bother.

However, if you can get a decent ROI on a $500 product, then you might as well do both.

However, if it was really true, then why isn't everyone selling higher priced products, when clearly most are not?
