"Imagine" making $800 Week, "Picture" Sitting on the Beach Working Full Time ;)

Words and more particularly Stories can really take your Business to new heights. Taking a Product and creating an interesting, captivating Story around it can really help your Conversions and your Overall Business.

It is not only something I recommend, these days it is almost mandatory.

People are built and conditioned to hear Stories. If done right, it touches something emotionally within them and really gets their Attention and KEEPS their ATTENTION.

Which is so vital.

Jo Han Mok a World class Content Producer . One of the things he implements in his Content ( whether it be Blog Posts, Articles, Videos, Copywriting etc..) is he will tell a Story and he likes to start of with a word like "Imagine".

i.e. "Imagine" its the last day of the month and you just got paid for your Office job only to look at your bank Account and see $23 left in it after all your bills are paid. You cannot even take your girlfriend out for Dinner etc..etc.."

My point is utilize words like "Imagine", "Picture this", "Visualize this scenario" etc...as ( easy to use) seductive lead-ins to a great story that can really engage and capture the ATTENTION of your Prospect.

      Yep, I think particularly if you can get your prospect to "clearly visualize" himself actually using your actual product and "clearly visualizing" himself getting the benefits from your Product during the storytelling process...then you are well ahead of the game.

      This often works great when an actual dialogue is shown.

      Example:

      ME: "Blah, blah, blah"

      YOU: "Blah?"

      ME: "Yup. Super blah"

    Hi, that really twinkled my imagination! A successful sales person knows how to tell intriguing stories. I would just like to take this concept a little further.

    Through my copywriting experience, I have learned to use these words (imagine, visualize, picture yourself) in two ways inside a sales page. No.1 When I am addressing the dreams of my prospects (which will be accomplished after the prospect buys my product). No.2 when I am addressing the DREADS of my prospects (which he has to face if he missed buying my product). It's like you have to make your prospect visualize the dreams and dreads associated with your product.

    If done correctly, your prospect will see your products while asleep -- in REAL DREAMS!

      Yes I agree, addressing both is crucial.Openly Identifying their "dreads"/"problems" is crucial to getting closer to your Audience and letting them know that you understand where they are coming from

      Actually, the biggest issues with working on the beach is making sure you have enough overhead coverage so you can see your screen.

      And then there is the sand issue.

      Sand gets everywhere. Great for exfoliation but not so good for electronics.

      PS: When you really enjoy what you are doing, it never feels like work.

    Fresh out of the Navy, pocketful of cash I headed to the beach to "retire", to spend months laying on a blanket, drinking cold pops and schmoozing the girls.

    Even though I had spent half my Navy time in Hawaii, where I had 3 months at a time between sub patrols to basically lay on the beach, I kept myself busy.

    But NOW? Free at last. To do as I pleased. First couple of days on the hot California clothing optional beach, I got sun burned in places where no sun should ever go.

    Then there were the sand lice and the no see ems...
    Then the jelly fish on the beach.
    No swimming/surfing warning due to sharks present.

    The instant pop up storms, with enough lightning to run the nuclear sub I served on.

    Yes beautiful girls...snooty, stuckup creatures of great meanness.

    So, I tried the mountains next, but that is a story for another day...
    and speaking of butts...

    if you retire to Black's Beach San Diego or South Beach Fl (Haulover) be sure to put high SPF where the sun don't normally shine.

    I listened to an audio awhile ago and darn it it annoyed me guy kept bragging about working full time on the beach in Rio. ugh. Hate people like that. Like I care right?

    Anyways! today I had to listen to two audio recordings that were 1 hour long. OMG those guys drove me nuts. They kept telling stories ... but they had nothing to do with the industry!

    I'm all about story telling in copyright but darn it make sure it fits not only your buyer but also your niche.

    I hate the fact that I had to listen to those recordings for school and every minute they were talking about the dumbest stuff.

    The goal of your story should be that the reader REMEMBERS the story and returns back to buy the product. If the story sticks with them you have a forever client if it annoys them then you've lost them forever.

    Yes the "story' method is still one the most effective method to get people to buy from you, however the trust factor is very important.You must have to build some trust either with your list or in any groups or forum for people to believe your story.

    Just wanted to a little tidbit to this post.

    People are more motivated by fear than by rewards.

    For example: If you tell someone that they will lose $1 million (money that they already have) if they don't do a certain thing, they will more likely to act than if you tell them to do the same exact thing to earn $1 million.

    In other words...Fear is the biggest motivator in the world.

    If you want to read some creative copy that gets traffic to think it's all about them, read some lyrics by Eminem.

    I was listening to Lose Yourself earlier today and decided to Google the lyrics, he mentioned the word you, me, my, etc... several times.

    I realize the song is about Eminem (Rabbit) but the way he writes connects, even If it's only a single line. Who hasn't ever been nervous, wasted an opportunity, had kids to support, worked a 9-5 job? Most folks have done at least one of these things in their life.


    The opening lines of Lose Yourself are straight out of a sales pitch...

    Anyways reading his lyrics from a marketing POV is like reading a sales page, lol.

    I spent a fascinating afternoon once sitting on the beach with an old man. He had a beach chair, a cooler, an umbrella for shade, and a fishing rod in a sand spike. When he invited me to sit and talk, I set up my beach chair, sand spike, and cast my line into the water. We spent the day talking about anything and everything. As the sun got lower, he reeled in his line, and at the end was a simple lead sinker - no hook, no bait, just the sinker.

    I like the word "Imagine". Your thread title did capture my ATTENTION. I would just be a little careful about it though because it also gives an impression of being clickbait. As long as the content that follows does not mislead and disappoint the readers, it's a good technique.

      So, imagine some other place you would like to work. Visualize. See yourself there. Also, visualize yourself seeing someone's example and accept it as an example.

      I understand there are places in this world where not only can you live like a king on $800 a week but you could also support a wife, 3 mistresses, your very own clown and a scribe to take down every wise word you ever say.

    I don't say $3200 a month is not a good money, but unfortunately, $800 a week is not enough money even as a passive income in most countries for that kind of life, unless you are trying to make some side income, but it may attract people from some countries.

    I am trying to say people, especially beginners tend to have unrealistic expectations, they think of large amounts of money flowing into their bank account from day one.

    I know you said the title was not related to content for a reason but 800 ain't cutting it for me.
    You are right about the story, but there is much more to it than just using words like "imagine", the thing is copywriting for a website is a whole different thing from writing a blog or a story and a whole different thing from adding technical briefs and making it SEF.
    What I'm saying is, story telling is a tremendous skill and should be used on the content creation but it needs to be coherent, relevant and all in all perfectly planned. Every paragraph should have a hook for the next paragraph, every sentence should make you want to read the next sentence and that comes over time and tons and tons of practice.

    Yes, personal but interesting stories got readers hooked with your content. I agree it is not recommended anymore, but required! With the fast paced world we are living in, people definitely want to learn something that is engaging and valuable.
