Selling websites on Flippa

Hello

I have previously run a local business in the pet grooming niche and I have decided to retire from this business.

I had ranked my business to number 1 on google for its target keywords (to do with pet grooming in my local city). My business website still ranks as number 1 and while I have tried to offer it to other local dog grooming businesses to buy so they can enjoy the ranking I have found that others in my niche are not familiar with websites, computers etc. and I haven't found anyone who is willing to take it on which is a shame.

I have 3 websites with good backlinks that I used to help rank my business website. They still have those backlinks in tact and I know people used to sell whole websites on Flippa.com

My question is.... is it worth trying to write a listing to sell the 3 websites in the pet niche that have good backlinks on Flippa?

Unlike other websites on Flippa my sites don't use Adsense and don't make any revenue.

However they do have good backlinks, original content with excellent English, are all setup on wordpress and if they were sold as a package of all 3 the new owner could simply adopt my GoDaddy account (as all 3 domains are there) and adopt the hosting (they are all hosted at 3 separate hosts paid into next year). So no risky domain pushing or transfer would be needed. And the new owner gets some hosting as well.

2 of the sites were PR3 and one was a PR5 when Google used to publish the PR.

Would this be of interest to anyone or do you think it wouldn't be worth my time and this particular niche probably wouldn't attract someone to buy them?

Thanks for the input

  • What is the customer looking for? - Start by asking yourself that.

If I was listing your site on Flippa I would add adsense to show proof of revenue potential, I would maximize traffic to show proof of visitors.

    Hope this helps

I wondered if someone trying to rank a site in the pet niche might be interested in established sites with good backlinks?

Saves having to buy a domain and create content for it from scratch?

Maybe you could contact other pet groomers in the city that want to build a bigger web presence that would love to have that google ranking, if the ranking is based on locality.

Sites with traffic and not yet monetized tend to sell well on Flippa because the potential has not yet been realized.

You should do well with them.

(FYI I am a super seller there)

Thanks Brad. I should think that they would because they have good backlinks and that was the only reason I wanted them.

Are there any tricks to getting your website listing noticed on Flippa or do you just list it and wait? Ive never sold on Flippa before.

PS> @leighk ... as mentioned I have contacted the other local people in the pet niche in my area and there has been no interest. I largely put that down to people knowing nothing about websites, how to host them etc. I think it all sounded too scary or risky. We forget that people who don't do anything to do with internet marketing or websites find this stuff all too strange and foreign. You wouldn't buy something you didn't understand or feel confident with and I have done the best I can to make it sound easy and offer hand over support but the average "tradie" knows nothing about this sort of thing and just pays Yellow Pages a fortune each year and hopes for the best! lol!
