Do Movie Trailer style salespage videos really work?

Sometimes I see internet marketing products with a 'fancy' video intro with motion and graphics and epic movie music, etc.

Does this really increase sales? It may enhance the professional feel, or at least appear that the creator invested some money into the salespage, but love any responses from warriors who put these videos on their pages. Does it really help you get more sales?

My guess is that if you're targeting more newbies and consumers the effect may be worth it, but if you're targeting other internet marketers then is it really worth it? Most of the time, I never even watch a video like this. Especially if it autoplays. I can't hit the pause button fast enough.

Plus, I know it's just an After Effects template bought off VideoHive. So it basically doesn't impress me at all, and sometimes makes me think the creator is trying to hard by using lights/sound to get me all giddy. But it doesn't, and most times I just roll my eyes.

Your thoughts?

Jeff, great points in your post. The thing that always seems to impress me is good content. Providing quality value will always out last high graphics and videos. Thanks again for your post, very informative!

Yep, good content can be a video; but most of the time the video is usually just a less-quality rehash of content.
