Anyone else making money with phone rooms?

If Your Not Using Phone Rooms To Sell Products, Then Your Missing Out On Big Income!

Is anyone else out there using phone rooms to sell products? We have been talking to a few phone rooms and we currently have one of them that is selling our internet marketing products. The others we have talked to seem very interested. The only problem is that each phone room wants exclusive rights to sell the products we offer. Bottom line is this: There is a lot of work to be done!

My big question is if there are others out there that are making money using phone rooms to sell there products or not.

A phone room is a room with a bunch of people selling stuff over the phone. Daniel and I have several of our info products selling over the phone. It's great. One of them was selling 100+ copies a day for $79 each. We never had to pick up the phone once.

We love using phone rooms. In fact, I'm not sure it was such a good idea that he is giving away one of our best secrets...but "F" it!! We're here to help.

What kind of splits are you paying out to the sales floor? Do you share any of the costs or do they take that out of their cut?

          Hey Ty,

You also asked our splits with the phone rooms, that is something that I can't reveal to the world. But we do have the phone rooms take care of all up front costs, it would obviously be way different if we owned the phone rooms. Dan and I are hoping to one day be able to get our own phone room going since it would be even that much more profitable!

Phone room = Call center = telemarketers

They usually sell big ticket coaching programs but others will do small ticket upsells

    Hey Fiona,

My business partner and I have been getting most of our success by having phone rooms sell our products, so I would say that "yes" it is an extremely good way to market products. I know that it works for other niches as well, but the most popular type of phone room here in SLC sells coaching programs and marketing products.

    Hey Mike,

My business partner and I personally know 2, and then there are others in SLC that we would have to simply look up in the phone books or online, or by asking around. And yes, we would be crazy to refer others to the 2 phone rooms we personally know since they want to sell our products. But probably the easiest way to find sales floors in your area would be to network or try looking them up.

What price range are the phone rooms able to work with?

Do they want only big dollar items?

We are working with a company and they actually have a small ticket upsell floor and they also have a big ticket floor.

The small ticket floor they take the $1.95 CPA leads and sell them small ticket items for around $80 a piece. This is usually done by offering the $1.95 buyer an additional 14 day trial to other information and if they like it then they are charged the $80 when the trial period is over. If they don't like the info then they are asked to send the product back.

The big ticked floor obviously sells coaching programs for usually between $2,000 and $10,000. My business partner and I have been helping them with the small ticket floor products and we have been also working hard to get them good buyer leads for the big ticket floor. The coaching that they sell is from another internet marketing expert.

They in the USA or off shore?

I have a lot of experience with call centers on/near/off shore and this exclusive thing has never happened to me. In fact the current landscape is most are looking for good per hour campaigns or deposits. The sales rooms are few and far between.

Sounds more to me like is a callcenter affiliate maybe? Also exist but they will ask about leads, etc. In this case, the leads, plus training etc is a big investment,a nd if you cant sell it your self on the phone, you need a good center. The start up time and costs is not cheap. I do this today, have done it before, and I feel like we are missing something here.

    Good post, feed us more!

Sweet! Got someone that is doing the same thing.

Thanks casinojack. Alright, you'll have to tell me more about this off shore stuff, we are just working with phone rooms here in the USA.

The thing with the exclusivity is that they are telling us that we could probably run around to at least 6 phone rooms in the area that would want to start selling our stuff right now, but if we have all these phone rooms selling the same stuff, then it may, in their words "*******ize" the products. There would also be competing prices for phone rooms selling the same stuff.

We could also run into problems with less trustworthy phone rooms that are all in it for the money. We don't want our business name associated with a phone room that has a horrible BBB rating for example.

Also, we are working with them to get CPA offers going on the products that we are having the phone rooms sell. These CPA offers would generate leads for the big ticket sales floor. We can't get away with offering our products to multiple sales floors if there are CPA offers going for those products at the same time. That could definitely tarnish our reputation in my opinion.

So tell me more casionjack about what you are having the off shore phone rooms do for you. Sounds extremely profitable!

    A few things:

    1. Working leads. We give each room a % of leads, and reward the best performing room with a bonus. Kind of like affiliates, they login, see stats, and ranking! How do I protect my data you ask? I have a predictive dialer service I use. i control everything, so worse case they get data of people they spoke to, but not say, 5k leads at a time. I work this as part of the deal.

    2. Front. handle incoming calls, and qualify them before sending to closers.

If the service or product is a good one (I have one I am doing needs SERIOUS PEOPLE) I charge them to become members. 10k up front. Is a lot, but I have 15 of them now and it works. I also believe in quality control...

    3. Cold Call / Hot transfer--> also work, they supply leads, I pay per transfer to my closing room.

Yes i am being vague on the current program, but I am new here and am not looking to sell anything, or promote, don't need no ban hammer!!. Hope this helps.

      Both, in and out

And yes, as when someone fill out a lead form, the are then opted out of the DNC list. I don't just call white pages type data..

    Hey Teresa,

I don't know what casinojack is doing but the phone rooms that I work with are calling buyer leads, meaning that when these leads bought certain items that they included their name, phone number, etc. You tell me if that complies or not, because I do not know. All I know is that if someone buys something from me, that I would assume that I have the right to give them a call.

It was my understanding that if you have bought something or are a current customer then that company has the right to call you even if you are on the Do Not Call List, however, if you express that you don't want anymore calls they have to take you off. Now, I'm certainly no expert on that so I'd definitely do some looking around.

Also, I'm not sure what you may or may not have on your website for those who purchase but I would make it abundantly clear that by including their phone number they are authorizing you to contact them in the future with additional offers. I'd put that big and large so people are aware of it right away. Just so you've got all your bases covered.

      All the best.

As of last I check, When they buy a product or service, you can call them for 18 months...of course, we 100% honor "Do Not call me" requests, but there is a lot of gold left to be uncovered. Makes a lot of sense. You can start small and go from there...Get it working on your own first...

      hey daniel,

utah has a lot of call centers and one would be Prosper Learning & Business Coaching. no experience with them, but might as well check them out. im pretty sure some of the big real estate gurus outsource there telemarketing/coaching to them...

Hey Daniel, I'm in SLC also (just down the road from you in Herriman). Back when I was 17 I worked on a sales floor selling high end coaching. I had no business selling that coaching but it gave me a good intro into the industry. You can't beat Utah for finding sales floors. I've got a few clients right now who own call centers and clean up doing it.

What types of products do you find work best? For example, I market dog training products, internet marketing products for mom bloggers, and hope to soon be marketing IM products for small business owners; how do you think any of those would convert through a call center.

This thread seems a bit contrived. Sorry, and it's only my opinion.

Using a call center to increase conversion is something no one should overlook. Don't forget about mailers as well.

Hey TyBrown, That's pretty sweet that your just right down the road. I am actually having a house built right now in Eagle Mountain. A bit far away, I know, but when you work from home all day then it works (plus we're able to get a big old house for cheap!)

Anyway, I've only done the internet marketing stuff with the phone rooms. I've also heard rumors of sales floors doing upsells for the pharmaceuticals, but that has only been rumors. Also, of course, that would be small ticket upsells rather than big stuff.

The big thing though in my opinion is the type of leads you have. If for example you had dog training ebook buyer leads, I don't see why a sales floor wouldn't be able to sell them additional small ticket items. For big ticket stuff, everyone I know is doing biz opp type stuff or internet marketing. Maybe you know some of the same floors I know about. Have you heard of Mike Adamson's (spelling error?) floor? I know they are making a killing with eBay big ticket stuff.

And thanks Jay Truman! Yes, I've heard of proper and know a gal that still does stuff with them. Plus I think I keep on seeing billboards everywhere for them. Hopefully one day I'll be able to sit down with them as well. But the big thing here is that I hope people see that there is a bunch of opportunity for selling a lot of stuff offline as well as online.

      Hey TyBrown, you on facebook?

How exactly do phone rooms work? Do you have to give them a list of phone numbers to call, or do they just call random numbers in certain areas for you?

      Hey clubvikram,

You normally have phone rooms call buyer leads. A lot of the phone rooms I know of are using the CPA networks in order to generate these buyer leads.

The sales floors I know call a few different types of leads:
1- Infomercial leads. People buy infomercial products about r.e. investing, internet business, etc. and those leads go to these floors. This is a huge revenue stream for these infomercial gurus because the back end coaching is usually $2k-$10k. When I was working at one of these places we had probably 30 guys calling for one real estate guru. I would guess that the average sales per week of each guy was $4,000 so you can do the math about how much money was coming in weekly. Obviously by the time it filtered back to the guru it was far less but I'm sure it was still a huge amount in his pocket every week.
2- Free seminar leads. When Kiyosaki's crew comes to your town or some other you attend another gurus free seminar at the airport Marriott plan on getting called after for some coaching upselling.
3- Paid seminar leads. People that are paying a few hundred for a weekend seminar in IM, RE, etc. can expect to get called after for some attempted upselling.

This is a gigantic business, especially here in Utah, that I'm sure could be scaled for a lot of different sizes. I'm getting some great ideas from reading this thread.
