Anyone got experiance in the `loans` niche? My conversions have dropped off this past week

Hi guys,
Just wondering if any of you guys are working in or have experiance in the loans` niche either payday or just regular loans?

Just asking because I`ve been setting up a few campaigns for a loan and had a storming month last month July but the last few days of July and the start of this month my conversions have dropped right off although still getting a good amount of clicks.

I dont have much experiance in loans and wondered if the end of the month and the start of the following month conversions will suffer due to most folks getting paid??

I dont know if this is at all the case but any info from folks int he niche would be cool

Cheers James

more and more these types of loans are becoming illegal in many states. So make sure you are targeting the states where they are still legal.

I dont have much experiance in loans
If you are going to be in this niche then maybe it is time you got a little experience/knowledge in what you are trying to sell

Really the question was is anyone in the `loans` niche as I just wondered if there is a drop off towards the end of the month/ Beginning of the following month? just after afew tit bits of advice from anyone with some success in online loans.

I`ve actually had a couple of conversions today so that stops the doubt creeping in as my ad costs are quite high.

    Cheers

Pay day loans. When do people get paid? End of the week, middle and end of the month or end of the month.

When are mortgages / rents and other large bills due? Beginning of the month, with penalties after the 15th.

I would think you'd see most activity in the first week of the month, a bit less in the 2nd and close to none in the last.

On average, James, you'll see spikes at the start of the month, but this should diminish in October and through to February (Christmas lead-up and January sales). But that's the average. It depends how you work the model; specifically, who you're targeting and how you're doing it. You may not get many in-depth answers on WF due to the niche in question. (One of those niches that does well for marketers in this vicinity.) To help, though, there are ways to dimish the spike: cross-selling (best way) and offline marketing. You'll want to run your traffic through email collection and make long-term efforts at cross-selling. A pretty simple way to beef up your numbers (and usually avoid competitors) is to look into offline marketing channels; basic flyer designs (these tend to work best for any niche) distributed to low-income areas.

  • You can sometimes get leads for free from Craigslist, but make sure you keep it to the maximum of 3 per day or else you'll be cut off.

As far as I know, virtually anyone can use Craigslist and target any part of the world you want. The only issue is to not exceed the limit, which in my experience is only three ads per day. There are those who cheat and try to circumvent the rule, but I don't advocate that. Also, make sure to wait the whole 24 hours before trying to post again or it does get blocked.

I can't think of a reason why July would be slower for loans, with the exception that July is THE vacation month. Since all the reservations etc have to be made prior to July, it might be people aren't interested in loans. They're focused on vacations.

As far as timing. If you get paid twice a month, it's usually on the 1st and 15th, so I would think the end of the month would having people scrounging around for money.

Pay day loans are under much more restriction but still available. I think the bad press pay day loans have received has more people realize just how horrendously expensive they are.

Pay day loans aren't really loans at all but advances, so they don't come under usury laws.
