Full discussion of the silo principle in a thread isn't possible but I will tell you that WordPress is actually a very good platform that can implement SEO siloing very intuitively and simply.

It's done through judicious use of categories, subcategories, posts/pages, permalinking and a smart use of tags and internal post/page linking.

Of course, all this is dependent upon you having original, relevant, and high quality content on your site - the more the better. It's not going to work with "thin" content or rehashed garbage.

There are plenty of good tutorials online about how to do this . . . you don't need a paid product or expensive e-course.

Silo's as mentioned is rather easy. It's just about interlinking pages going down the Rabbit hole and then linking those sub pages back to the main pages.

I would advice on Wordpress not to attempt to use category pages in silos. It can get a bit complicated and easier to just hard code links into pages and posts then de-index categories.
