The secret to create your next viral blog post lies in MOVEMENT not MEDITATION.

Hi warriors, back in old days, I learned this through one of my journalism class:

There are 5 things that make a story newsworthy: Significance, timing, proximity, prominence and human interest.

Same goes for your next blog post idea.

You see, we spend hours and hours in crafting one single piece of a well-researched 3000+ words blog post. And if it is not what our audience is looking for -- all is in vain. If I'd summarized how to validate your next blog post idea, I'd do it in following words:

"The secret to create your next viral blog post lies in MOVEMENT not MEDITATION"

98% of bloggers get their "light bulb" blog post idea while they are meditating; whether it's for 5 minutes before going to bed, or while taking a shower, or maybe sitting on the desk for hours and hours.

When it comes to idea generation, we have been taught to ONLY think and meditate. Thanks to Einstein!

What we fail to realize is the fact that just like we SEARCH out for our product demand or look out for solid opinions to validate our startup idea, we should also show somewhat similar MOVEMENT in validating our next blog post idea (before finally pumping in our blood and sweat).

Well, I am not saying you to spend hours and hours in doing so (after all, it's something you are giving away for free), but still a half an hour MOVEMENT can bring in good returns on your time.

Stop saying MOVEMENT and tell me what it is!

It means to go one step further than "having a blog post idea" and visiting different free online platforms to get-to-know whether your "meditated idea" is good enough?

Are people taking about it? Is there any human interest?

There are many cool online resources you can visit RIGHT NOW to validate your next raw and gritty blog post idea:

1. Buzzsumo

There is no better validation than typing your blog post idea (or related keyword) in the buzzsumo search option. A list of competitors will appear, showing how they performed on social media and many more metrics.

Check whether a similar article has been a hit? How it performed? Was it shared like CRAZY?

You can also search by typing your competitors name and see which of their content is receiving greater appreciation.

And....the rest is your creative twist.

For example, after you have realized that there is an immense demand on "How to wake up early" topic, the rest of the magic lies in your creativity.

How you twist the topic and present it in a more DEMANDABLE way to the PROVEN hungry crowd is the next vital step (towards viral content).

2. Quora

Quora provides you:
  • An opportunity to validate your present blog post idea.
  • An inspiration for your future blog post ideas.

You just start typing your blog post title (or related keyword) in quora search feature and tonnes of similar questions will appear. Again, look out for people response on your related questions.

3. Google keyword planner

Unlike in SEO, where you look out for keyword competition, validation of your blog post requires a different analysis: number of monthly searches your keyword is receiving.

There are many other validation resources I might be missing. For example, I have heard that savvy bloggers are first crafting short 2000 characters mini blog post on Instagram and then, by analyzing its response - going out for the bigger shot.

Would love to know your secrets at crafting your next viral blog post!

Thanks
Junaid

Actual physical movement helps inspire, too. I often feel the most motivated, and get some of my best ideas, while I'm exercising, or just after. It's that endorphin high enhancing my creativity, and it works.

Well, who can deny the significance of regular exercise - a definite creative booster!
Thanks for adding a nice point William!

    Hi Junaid,

    Fabulous post.

I like a bit of each. Meditation helps me clear blocks to creativity. I get to embrace my anxieties, fears and worries, experience them, and then, after releasing these tough to feel, feelings, I let in profitable or prospering or smart ideas with greater ease.

Once I nab these ideas I move into more calm, intelligent action, which I feel kinda detached from, and which usually yields solid results.

Example: I recently ranked for 2 semi-competitive, longtail blogging keywords on Page 1 of Google. 2 different posts, and I reached #2 on Page 1 for each.

    How?

I embraced some deep anxieties around success and money through meditation and EFT tapping. I felt really terrible for a few days, which was me releasing some rough stuff that happened in my life, from earlier days. This was the meditation part.

Then, I moved into action (movement part) by calmly writing an in-depth, SEO-optimized, linked up, helpful blog post whose topic I uncovered by asking my readers. Now, I'm popping more onto Quora, and running Google searches, to identify long tail keywords too.

By covering these topics and patiently spending 3, 5 or 7 hours to create a clear, resource-style post, directed specifically toward bloggers who want smart blogging tips, I generated hundreds of social shares and one of these posts still ranks at #3 on Google, Page 1, almost 3 weeks after going live. On Page 1 every day, too.

The meditation, and "calm, calculated, effective, intelligent, peaceful" movement leads to viral ideas, search engine friendly posts, and more than anything, you'll develop passive traffic and passive income by creating something thorough and targeted versus creating something that requires your long term attention, to see minimum or terrible results. Or....you'll cease meditating for 90% of the time, and will move into effective, intelligent, controlled action more frequently.

As for generating successful blog post ideas:

1 - Meditating. I sit for 20 minutes on waking to dissolve blocks to creativity.

2 - Taking a cold shower in the morning. Talk to your doctor first, as this may be a shock to your system at first. This moves me into a higher, receptive to good ideas, prospering vibe.

3 - Only publish blog topics based on problems your audience suffers - which they emailed to you, or tweeted to you, or shared with you on any platform - or which you find on awesome sites like Quora, which you've mentioned. This is where things can potentially go viral.

4 - This may be the toughest one, but do not try to create a viral post. Why? The "trying" energy attaches you to a viral post outcome, and in most cases, that energy creates resistance which blocks the viral post ideas and structure that would lead to the hyper popular post.

Be this instead: a blogger who has fun and listens to their audience problems, and wants to share a post-solution in a thorough, helpful, SEO-optimized blog post.

Thanks Junaid for the helpful practical tips.

Hi ryanbiddulph, Couldn't have a more brilliant response than this one! Absolutely perfect( (especially the story element).

I like your strategy here. Over thinking on 'secrets' to create a viral post CAN halt our creative process.

Maybe, the "viral post" will come to you when you are least expecting it.

But sure, one must add "validating steps" in our usual blog post planning scheme. btw your story, undoubtedly proves, that meditation and Movement really go hand in hand.

      Thanks for your awesomessst insights!
