Does Google penalize/categorize based on the CMS used?

We all know google knows the difference between forums, blogs, etc. I'm not sure if it can recognize the CMS or forum sotware used or just the data patterns on the page but I was thinking...

If google can tell you're running a site in wordpress, can it penalize that site? I am thinking of the old BANS sites and how Google could recognize those, is the same true with wordpress, since it is often used for monetization(sp? - is it a word even?) purposes?

Would a site built with drupal or joomla do better since those aren't as popular for sales/adsense/etc.. sites?

Just a little thinking because I am actually considering using Joomla for my sites instead of wordpress...

wordpress IMO is easy to optimize than joomla, as far as penalizing a site based on CMS is concerned, article dashboard might be in that category if such a thing exist (which I doubt exists), certainly not wordpress

I severely doubt that cms design could inherit a punishment.

Other than the use of frames, I can't see design being a factor.

    Content is king
