Youtube channel questions

Hi All,

I am a travel blogger and just starting out with a few vlogs to get my feet wet (videos are gaining popularity by the day).

So my questions are -
1. Do I open a brand new youtube channel for my blog or rename my old channel?
2. Can anyone see your youtube email id? (If I use my old/personal account as it has history/age and few travel videos already with fair no of views).
3. How to add a clickable link to my blog in my youtube cover
4. Any other tips for youtube channel/growing it would be great

Thanks!
Jo

You can create sub-directories of you channel, this is the best way to go about it unless you are trying to be a different person all together.

    1. There's nothing wrong with renaming your channel for better branding. Just make sure you aren't losing any keyword credibility with the old one before changing. I'd also make sure to revamp your cover photos and end cards to all match with your new brand name, colours etc. so that everything is re-branded at once and it causes less confusion than re-branding bit by bit.

    2. Can people see my email address on Youtube? - Google/YouTube Help Forum

    3. By your Youtube cover - do you mean the cover image? I don't believe you can link out to anything from there. It's best to list your full URL and make sure links to your website/blog are included in your descriptions.

    4. Use end cards as much as possible. Watch time is the most important factor to ranking for your keywords on Youtube.

Incidentally with one Gmail account you can actually create multiple channels, I think I have four of them.

    - For me, you can create your new youtube channel and upload the videos that are based on your niche and make a brand your channel!
    - Use annotations and place your website URL to link back your website.
    - Create and upload the cache videos and thumbnails on your channel and give always an interesting titles of your videos to get more views!

If you have an affiliate site and you use youtube videos. I know you're allowed to embed videos on your site without getting in trouble but if your using video thumbnails and profiting from your project as well. Is their any copy-write concerns I should be aware of? The thumbnails is obviously stored on your server and used as the featured image? can you get hit with a DMCA because of the thumbnails?
