Craigslist questions.

Is a VPA sufficient for Craigslist or is a proxy in the right city also necessary? The proxies I've tried get a 404 response from Craigslist. I think they may have lists of the free proxies.

I'm thinking of trying affiliate sales but I think that posting a website link would be a mistake, so instead I'm thinking that I should set up an autoresponder. Is there any reason that wouldn't work with Craigslist's email anonymization? It seems like it should.

Are there any alternatives to Craigslist that are worth using but don't put up so many roadblocks?

I don't think it's a good idea to look for ways to get around a site's terms/rules when trying to promote your opportunity. Learn about things such as Internet Marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and SMM (Social Media Marketing). You'll find a wealth of information on this forum.

You will need a private proxy geo-targeted for your chosen cities. However, most of the high profile proxy sources like HideMyAss are very much already blacklisted by Craigslist.

Regarding the auto responders, they will not work with Craigslist relay emails. Many people severely underestimate how sophisticated the Craigslist email filters are. You need to be varying your outgoing email address, IP address and email templates to optimize your delivery rates. To better defend against spammers, Craigslist has even instituted a Google captcha code when too many similar email attempts are made using common email content.

Okay, so what about putting an email address or a web address in the ad? Obviously it couldn't be a direct affiliate link or even a shortener like bitly.

Going by your name, am I right in assuming that you do Craigslist posting as a service?

Yes we do offer that. Placing an email address or a website link in your ads serves as a common campaign footprint through which Craigslist can track and flag your ads. Plus. Craigslist does not like traffic leakage off their site which also contributes to their anti-link policy.

So it sounds like what I'm trying to do is a bad idea overall. I shouldn't place a link in the ad, and responding to everyone with the same email wouldn't work. Unless you have a solution?

What about putting a phone # for calling or texting?

all you got to do is Photoshop all your Info into a Picture and use that pic

Another Tip would be to Resize the Image to another dimension with a app called Fotosizer etc , you can even Watermark your Images witch comes in handy in services

then clean file with a app called batch purifier etc

and make sure you use Geo Located Virgin Private Proxies

don't re post same content in different post by different accounts, this will get your account added to the cess pool ,

Hide me Ass is hit and miss, 1 out of 10 ads might go threw so don't waste your time, there best for flagging out of control competitors etc

try posting on a laptop via threw smartphone wifi,

walmart has a big selection of throw away phones for 20 to 30 bucks out that door, i invest in 5-10 of these every few months, and you can call and change the number 2-3 times, per phone, don't do that until you master not mixing acounts up, when you mix up your proxie and acount it will ask you to reverify, and you'll be SOL

Interesting. But how many people will try to type in the URL from the picture? Won't they just get confused when they can't click on it?

Regarding phone numbers; this is a great service for disposable numbers if all you need them for is to receive texts: textfree.us

Yes, that would be a smart idea to include a phone that respondents can call or text you through. I would advise you to use 2 - 3 different phones to diversify your ad content. Even better if you can use a phone which is local to the state you are posting to.

all you got to do is Photoshop all your Info into a Picture and use that pic
As of February 2015, Craigslist can now parse image content. You used to be able to conceal emails, links, phones, etc inside an image. However, Craigslist can now parse out any text written on an image. That means that they can now recognize common text shared across all the images you post in different cities and use those as campaign footprints to track and flag your ads. This only becomes an issue when you try and scale your campaign across many cities and not if you only post locally.

Parse how? Using OCR? That can be easily fooled. Even if they use OCR and read the images' metadata, with a simple software, you can build thousands of images that will pass their filters. Even if they use some super awesome algorithm, you can use hundreds of throw-away emails and forward them anywhere you want. What I'm saying is that if there's a will, there's a way

If you do this then just make sure that what you are promoting allows this type of promotion. Most affiliate offers will not allow this.

Yes, I would be careful violating the ToS of Craigslist as they are quite strict on this and there have been some high-profile cases. Most of the freelacners on this forum who advertise won't do you any good either.........
