Hi warriors. Most of you guys out here play around with mobile apps on your smartphones. Developers of these apps invest in large amount of time and money to get the likes of the general public which undoubtedly is a very strenuous task. In January 2016, around 20,000 new games were submitted to the iTunes app store which according to some other statistics makes it close to 1000 apps per day!! Fellows, app market is popping up with thousands of talented developers but only few of them hit a home run in championships. Is there poor marketing involved or the apps itself aren't appealing? Whatever reason it is , there is definitely lack of poor marketing involved.
If you guys ever had a chance to launch a mobile app first hand please share your experiences on this thread. I would love to know what trajectory took you to the top of the peak.Anyways, after talking with my colleagues in app development and reading different literature online, I have compiled number of good solutions which can help many aspiring computer geeks to effectively launch their mobile app.

1. Do some pre-market analysis:

Very Important (with a big I). Make a spreadsheet and compare all the pros and cons of your app with your competitors. It will help you decide what features should be included in your app which could differentiate you from others. Apart from that you can also set up a survey and offer incentives to your client like free download if fully completed. Through this you could get a perfect feedback from your prospective clients. Remember!! Your customers are the backbone of your business and therefore you shouldn't leave any stone unturned when you are engaging them with the app development process.

2. Feedback before a launch date:

Feedback is essential and can save you with a lot of hassle and anxiety before the launch date. For that you could do beta testing through which you can achieve unbiased first hand feedback from tour target audience. You just need to select some people from your target audience and recruit them for testing. The best source out there is TestFlight Beta Testing through which you could invite up to 2000 testers by just using their email address.

3. Create a promotional video:

Create a 30-60 sec promotional video with the help of all individual involved in the development process. Regularly update these videos weekly or biweekly to maintain your client's interest. Apart from that don't forget to promote your video on social platform like Facebook, Instagram or on your official blog.

4. Considering alternatives :

Google Play and Appstore are not the only sources that accept new apps in the market. There are several other sources which can be used to achieve your download targets. For example GetJar , SlideMe , Amazon Appstore etc.

5. App Awards:

They exist fellows!! It's indeed one of the best way to show the credentials of your app accompanied with great reviews and downloads. You can apply for the following app awards

• Best app ever award
• Appsters awards
• The webby award
• OZapp

6. Importance of SEO:

If you want your app to pop up among the top searches then you should be considerate with the implications of SEO.All you need is to choose a perfect set of keywords for your app's promotional content. You can use tools like MobileDevHQ , Alexa , SearchMan for this purpose.

7. Contact high profile bloggers.

Most of the time when you search up for reviews on a mobile device or an app a well-known blog pops up. All you need is to contact these blog writers and request them to promote your app in exchange for some compensation. It can really help your app to achieve market success.

Remember success is nothing more than a few disciplines practiced every day. If you keep yourself organized and focused during this enormous pursuit of app development, I'm positive that you can achieve the success you always dreamed of. Anyways, these were my two cents fellows. I would love to know your opinion on this.

Cheers- James

I would also like to add how important the app description in the app store is. So many people fail to get this professional written and it basically means that people wind up not downloading the app as it fails to engage with the potential user. Ensure you provide features, any awards, and write for your target. I am constantly looking at app descriptions that are so poorly written and have errors and mistakes and it is a really turn off. Just thought I would add. Thanks.

Awesome point.I think that's the first impression you are putting forward to your clients and if it goes wrong then everything goes downhill from there. Definitely app description must summarize its credential effectively.

Nice summary. One thing very essential I would like to add is Beta Testing. I think it's one of the essential ingredient to check out the response from a particular selected cohort. It will give you a general overview regarding how to shape your app by correcting the flaws mentioned by the testers. Overall , it was a nice addition by you. Keep it coming.
