Does MMO Niche get treated differently and Unfairly compared to other Niches ?

Over the past many years a lot of people "call" out Sellers in the MMO Niche saying that they produce Courses
( Ebooks, Videos) for potential Entrepreneurs only to see that about 2% of these potential entrepreneurs actually take Action and put the material to use

So people say that it's a sham and there is no real Value being produced here etc..etc...

However, go to a person who has a home Library ( like me) and you will see many self- help books in our Collection like Weight Loss and Fitness that are never touched by the Buyer and only collecting dust.

But people do not place the same distinction on these as they do with Producers of MMO Products.

Unfair ?????

P.S. I do realize in the MMO Niche it is a low barrier to entry and there is a lot of junk and Marketers over-hyping stuff, but there is quality Products that people put out and it is not their responsibility to get those 98% of Buyers to utilize it

MMO promises money. It's a touchy subject. MMO is treated differently because people take money more seriously than anything else. Not sure why, they just do.

Yes that's true. Of course there are a lot of self help books that promise a Wonder Woman body or millions in the Stock Market. That is pretty serious stuff as well.

    hey Robert good thread!

Yes I feel a lot of people these days question the IMO niche a lot more!

They almost get angry when they can't make money in one week like they were promised!

They then call scam and when you ask how many months or hrs a week they put in they say oh 2 hrs for one month...

    Good discussion!

I do see the same similarities between MMO, weight loss and PUA..

Here in the UK there has been widespread and very public outrage at dating guru's.. a much worse rap than we get in IM.

In at least one instance that I can think of, the government stepped in and banned a guru from entering the country, as a result of outrage across the media.

IMO it gets a very bad rap.

I'm not saying it's not deserved. It's deserved but only because of a bunch of bad actors who have pulled scams and made the niche look bad.

Also, a lot of times the copy on sales pages can be very misleading and does promise people that they can make lots of money very quickly, which is definitely not the case. The MMO niche takes lots of time and hard work to succeed in just like any other niche.

If you want to get into the MMO niche and do it right you can make tons of money as it is one of the most popular and profitable niches there is.

However, you need to market ethically.

If you do the right thing and don't make promises that you know you cannot fulfill you will not have any issues. If you actually come through on what you promise people you will make a great living in that niche.

I have been making a fantastic living from the MMO niche since 2008, but that's because I only promote products that I have myself and know they are good, and my first goal is always to show others how to make money before asking for the sale.

I think it was Zig Ziglar who said "Hlp others get what they want, and you will get what you want," or something to that effect. It might not have even been Zig Ziglar, but all I know is that I have adopted that as my "mantra" of sorts, and it's always rung true for me.

Another thing to remember is that the fakers, punters, and scammers are going to be quickly exposed and will not last long in this niche. However, if you stick to the rules and have great ethics, you'll be around for a long time and you will succeed and prosper.

this is a good thread and question..

truth be told, hell yes, it gets treated unfairly.

we got everybody and their mother claiming to teach you how to be a millionaire in 6 days.

I think it's important that there is a level a scrutiny to weed out the scammers...

but here is the other problem.

if you MMO and teach some one the process of:

    researching a niche

setting up the home base (site, YT channel, funnel, lead magnet)

    driving traffic (paid and/or free)

    creating copy

    and testing offers

and they fail,, then sometimes they blame you!

They rationalize that you didn't teach them the REAL secret. Or they think you went to uni and majored in MMO... What ever crazy rationalization they create puts you in the villain's seat.

I see that in many facets of life, not just online... grown ass man and women acting like babies..

The problem with the MMO niche is it has become infested with people who have a very skewed understanding of what an entrepreneur actually is. This is in turn is compounded further by the fact that the majority of them pass on their skewed understanding of entrepreneurship to the next crop of up and coming "wantrepreneurs".

The end result is a marketing landscape that has relatively few boundaries. It's gradually turning into a free-for-all that's showing no signs of slowing down. I worry where the MMO niche is heading. I honestly do. Don't get me wrong, the opportunity to make money online will always be there, its the way that people go about making it that concerns me

Look at the trading niche for example. As a trader myself, I can't help but shake my head in saddened disbelief at the amount of charlatans who intentionally set out to rob people of their money. Hired actors driving around in rented Ferarri's pretending to be some elite Wall Street trader - lying barefaced right down the camera.

I now have to work doubly hard to build trust with my leads and prospects because of these assholes. And the same will happen in the MMO niche eventually. In fact, its already happening IMO. Everywhere you look there's someone shoving stuff in your face promising you fortunes

"Hi, my name is Ben Dover and today I'm coming to you from on top of the Taj Mahal casino in Las Vegas because I'm an online entrepreneur who knows how to earn millions of dollars every 3 minutes. Let me show you how you too can have the life you deserve"

Obviously, I'm jesting slightly, but I'm still pretty close to the "selling culture" that is proliferating in internet marketing. Look around you. Look at the sales videos. Listen to how insulting they are to rational intelligence. The descent down the rabbit hole has begun. Where it ends, nobody knows

I'm with you right there Billy, in some instances the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

But thankfully.. at least in my experience, the kind of people you're talking about generally can't stay in business to long because they are called out for what they are or burn their bridges so quickly.

Sure there are always more to take their place, but I think as the industry matures more and more newbies are beginning to understand that reputation is important.. I like to think they see that entrepreneurs who've been around for a while are generally more trustworthy.

Although there's always the odd exception to the rule.

Yes same here. Been Trading for awhile and it is really sickening to see some of these low lifes peddling there ridiculous products, i.e , " all you need is $100 to start and this automated System will give you guaranteed 10,000% return "

to some MMO = Snake oil salesman , If you look at how when we all started a few years ago how much freedom we had and the we made money , a lot of the info we got was via word of mouth what work and what didn't

Now go forward to this day and age and see the same shit being re-invented and sold for a few bucks but the difference is that a lot of what we did does not work anymore but some idiots think they can resell it for $1-7 and get lighting in a bottle for 2nd time

Think of all the courses by warriors about creating your own WSO in 24hrs and how many crashed and burned , man I could go on for hours but you get the drift...!

I follow a few successful bloggers, some of them I opt-out of their e-mail list because they keep trying to sell me their courses. I got turned off by that. However, I joined a Facebook group where people keep posting their success and whenever asked how they did it, they recommend certain courses that they took (No affiliate links there). Some courses can be at $200 - and that's a lot for someone who's still starting to make money online. I have an MMO site and I do my best to recommend free products for starters because I understand most people out there find it hard to even invest on hosting, let alone expensive courses to jump start their blog.

Also, I tried WSO products that are sold for $7. Some of these "courses" and "ultimate guides" can be learned on the Internet for free.

The MMO niche as well as others are only put down on Forums like this. And contrary to popular belief the Warrior Forum as well as others is only a very small piece of the MMO pie. I go to Blogs and sites of people in this niche that never step foot in the WF and rarely if ever do I see negative comments on their blog posts.

Most of us who frequent this forum see all sides of the spectrum - the big earners, the moderately profitable, the small earners, the newcomers, the spammers, scammers, and drive bys.

Yes, the MMO sellers are seen differently and treated differently. But that is mostly by the prospects in the make money marketplace. Excelling at MMO is difficult given the landscape . . . but not impossible as some have proved.

As long as there's money to be made in this market (which there always is) there are going to be abusers, fakes, fast buck artists, and opportunists to contend with. Provide a product that actually helps people, gather an audience of satisfied customers who will support you, and stick in this marketplace for a long time and you should be able to set yourself apart from all the fakers.
