Should I get a Company Name when applying for different affiliate programs?

When you first start getting into affiliate marketing, is a company name mandatory? Should I get one or leave it blank? If I do need one, what do people usually name their company/business?

    It's not a requirement to have a company name to sign up to affiliate programs/networks.

    But some choose to do so for administrative, taxes and other related purposes. But I don't think it's necessary especially if you are starting.

    It is up to you. I started with just my name then went to a business name. It really makes no difference.

    It doesn't matter. You just need to read their requirements before signing up if it suits you.

    A company isn't necessary when starting your online business, but as you begin to rack up the sales and start investing in your business, the tax advantages of running your business through a Ltd Co outweigh continuing as a 'sole trader'. So, I would suggest you stay 'sole' for now, but when you start receiving regular sales income and/or start investing in your business - then register a Ltd Co.

    you can start with your own name because that is what i did. to own a company name is not really that necessary in the field.

    It's not essential but it is desirable. But go with an LLC if you are in the US. Corporation is too complex and involved. And shop around for a good deal because there can be big price differences, and more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better and can even be worse.
