Best course about generating traffic (and/or leads) to business blog?

Hey guys! I'm new here and couldn't find any better subforum for my question, so here it is.

I'm working as content designer and I'd like to get really skilled in traffic generation. I know the newest content creation standards but I've got problems with sharing that stuff in the right places and promoting it. My goal is to write less and spend more time on driving traffic, but I need a good online/video course to do that. Blogs are ok but after work I do freelance stuff and lack of free time is actually the main reason why I want to pay for course. I just want to have it in one place and learn it from A to Z without checking hundreds of articles.

Could you help me?

PS: Please notice that I'm not gonna buy anything anyone will refer to, especially some $10 crap like "Get rich in a week for free". If you don't want to help, please don't respond to this question.

Hi Michael. The best way to promote your content is to spend time researching what type of content your audience is lacking, and aim to write for virality. What this means is that you actually spend MORE time (I know you said you'd like to spend less time) on the piece of content itself in order to make it pitch-able to the big content house (HuffPost, Elite Daily, Forbes etc). Also, make sure you drop it on BuzzFeed and your social audiences. If you don't yet have a large Facebook audience, set as large of a budget as possible for an audience (likes) building campaign. You can target your demo precisely with Facebook's audiences. Make sure your content is optimized for organic reach (SEO) as well, including your money keyword in the title. Also, stay away from written content. Video, infographic and interactive content are the way to go, and make sure to draw on the heartstrings of your readers. Content that includes emotional appeal is 100% more likely to go viral. The biggest obstacle to digital PR and content marketing is when the niche is mind numbingly boring. In this case, it takes a lot of deep digging and creativity to write something valuable, but it can be done. Hope this helps.

  • I'd look at anything from Chris Record. He specializes in traffic generation training and has a history of producing quality content. His stuff is expensive though. Hope that helps

Is the traffic generation for you to get leads and visitors, or do you want to offer the traffic as a paid service?

Ben Adkins is great and focuses on traffic generation.

If its a course your looking at, id advise getting ben adkins $1 trail membership to adlab, as you also get 2 other MAJOR traffic generation courses.

I could write loads on this subject, but because this is only a small forum, its hard to fit it and can only skim over the surface.

Hope this helps, if it does, hit the thanks button

I learned all the SEO from Eric Lancheres and that's responsible for about 1/2 the traffic to my ecommerce store, I learned Facebook ads from Ben Adkins and Curt Maly... and I'm still learning Youtube!

Facebook is pretty damn easy, SEO is still the most profitable if you can get it right. Start with one!

No offense to any previous posters, but the information in most IM traffic products is either too basic to be of any use, or is simply available for free if you're willing to do the leg work, and flip through the virtual pages of WF. You'll be hard pushed to find a traffic generation product (ebook, for instance) that avoids pandering to the inexperienced. The so-called gurus in this industry have become more than adept at dressing up their products in order to appeal to the masses. And I know this from first-hand experience. I absorb information every day of the working week, and even have a small team to help me to so. Rarely will you find paid products (on traffic generation) that are worth the time spent reading them, let alone the price tag. Good reason for it, too, and you won't hear a guru tell you this: the value of a good traffic generation model is far greater than the income you will ever receive for selling that information. 9 times out of 10, the guru, or whichever moniker you wish to give them, will tap the traffic system to the point of near saturation, and will at that point sell the information. It makes business sense for them (unethical though it is): they ride the wave, then sell the (out-dated) knowledge. I am generalizing, yes, but put it this way: traffic generating models change, often month to month, and I literally am not able to recommend 1 product that I've come across this year.

So, what are you to do? Simple, and it needn't cost you a cent. You can do exactly what I started doing 22 years ago. This:
    • Figure out where your audience hangs out.
    • Learn how best to tap into that traffic by scouring the web for information and, also, by simply running your own tests.
You find good traffic models by yourself. Seriously. Rarely do you ever pay for them in a 50 buck eBook. The information is simply too valuable.

    - Tom

That's what I've been worrying about I was looking for something intermediate/advanced, because basic techniques are so common we've tried them tens of times already. We do SEO too, but someone else is taking care of it and besides keyword research and putting those keywords into text, SEO isn't my job here. Maybe I should buy premium account for this forum, or buy War Room access? What do you guys think? Would it help?

And of course I'll take a look at products you've mentioned, thank you.

PS: Sorry for not giving "thank you" points but I'm here since yesterday and system tells me I can't thank anyone yet.

Nothing wrong with "basic" techniques (provided they are implemented correctly). I'm big into fishing and once read an article (many years ago) about "lure selection" for trout. The point that stood out to me in that article is something that I've applied to marketing. The quote went something like this:

"Fishing lures are often designed and colored to catch the fisherman, not the fish. Stick with basic colors and designs and you'll do just fine."

Now, that's not the EXACT quote but it's very close. The point was to avoid stuff that was clearly made to catch "you" and stick to the basics that are tried and true.

The same goes for marketing techniques.

The easiest way (by far) to generate traffic is to follow the following process:
        • Identify an audience that you'd like to reach
        • Identify a niche that is of interest to that audience
        • Establish a brand and build a website
        • Establish a social media presence (particularly Facebook)
        • Ensure your website and social media branding matches
        • Run a "like" campaign on Facebook to build an audience
        • Publish helpful (ie. QUALITY) content on your website regularly and share on social media
        • Get traffic
        • Make money
I've been espousing this same info on this forum for at least the last year or two. It's easy to implement and it works. No magic formulas necessary.

        Don't over-complicate things.

Generating traffic is not that very difficult if you have a proper planning. And most people who are struggling to get traffic; don't have proper planning/mindset.

First of all there are mainly two ways to generate traffic -
    1. Using Free techniques; such as SEO, Social Media
    2. Using paid techniques which includes PPC, Media buying etc.

Now first you need to decide the medium whether you want to opt for free or paid techniques. If you want to opt for paid techniques; you should have considerable amount of money in your pocket. It is suggested that you start with free traffic generation methods; once you master that you can start experimentation with paid traffic source also.

But most important thing here is to start rather than looking for so called "course". Because the information that you will get from those course are easily available via blogs, forums also.

What traffic generation method do you want to learn? If you want to drive traffic with content marketing I would learn from Neil Patel (NeilPatel.com). If you like Facebook you might want to read Jon Loomer's blog,he's an expert at Facebook PPC. If you like SEO check out SEOMoz.com.

I've had some very good results personally, using local groups on Facebook to drive traffic.

Generally I private message the administrators of the group and ask if they mind if I post articles that I've written that will help local businesses, I don't directly pitch to anyone but rather focus on how to do X,Y,Z and they are free to contact me after clicking through the link to the full text of the article on my site.

Usually the moderators will let you do this if you respect their authority in the groups that you wish to post on, as long as you make it very clear that there will be no direct pitching. They need good content posted on their groups that will genuinely help their users, it's a win-win for both of you.

Hope this helps you out and I wish you nothing but success. :-)

    Peace,
    EJ
