I have a keyphrase consisting of two words: - word1 and word2

Looking for a domain name that incorporates the phrase

word1word2.com has gone

however:
word1-word2.com is available
word1word2.net is available

which would you go for?

If you have the money, go for both. Then you can optimze one for content and the other for products. Then link them together.

You will have the best of both worlds when you start building up both sites.

Remember not to have duplicate content for both sites and try to make it unique but link them with anchor keywords for content and products.

Am I the only one thinking this way or is it really that domain names like keyword101.com or something will outrank keyword.org? I see some people going for names the former recently.

    Hey 123andyt,

You are, no doubt, aware of the considerable bias toward '.com' TLDs.

There's growing evidence in the blogsphere (and I recall an article recently in the likes of AdAge, MarketingSherpa, MarketingExperiments, or such) that '.net', '.biz', etc. are avoided. (Certainly true for me.)

Is there some way you could attach a prefix or postfix qualifier to your KW1KW2 combination? Words like 'easiest', 'cheapest,' 'tutor', 'learn' and the like could lead you to both a .COM and a niche you can dominate.

    Hope this helps.

    Good hunting out there,

Why not add i or e prefix and register the .com version. There is nothing wrong in using a .net or a .org as well.
