Instead of creating another thread I've changed the subject Title of
this thread to let other Warriors know about this problem.

Read the thread to see why this may be effecting your profits/sales.

Original thread title was:
( Can some one tell me why I'm getting this Error when I visit some sites??? )

Hi Warriors,

I noticed that here recently that I've been receiving this same error when
I visit some sites but it doesn't happen when I visit other sites.

The sites actually open and load in my browser but then this Error pops up
and if I click on the OK button the page closes.

This just started happening it the past few weeks.

I'm 110% sure that my system is Virus free and every thing is functioning properly.

Thanks,
Have a Great Day!
Michael

Looks like you gotta upgrade to IE8 or swap to Firefox!

Why do I receive an "Operation aborted" error message when I visit a Web page in Internet Explorer?

      Mark Thanks,

Man that really sucks because a lot of Marketers don't know this is Happening
and they are loosing sales because of it.

You can't buy their product if you can't visit the page.

I'm going to run through all my sites today and make sure this isn't happening
      on any of mine.

I've had this happen on quite a few sites I've visited in the past few weeks.

      Have a Great Day!

Have you all updated Windows - It is a Windows error, so it's probably also been realeased in their latest update pack.

            Mark,
No, I haven't updated from Windows 7 to 8 yet.

This just started happen a few weeks ago. Before that I didn't have
            any problems viewing sites.

Sylvia in her post above stated she is using ver 8 and still has the problem
            at times.

I starting to think that there will be a massive decrease in product sales
do to this new error in older Windows browsers. There has to be some type
of new coding on the sites to cause this to start happening.

Yes indeed most likely. Although I don't mean only update the Browser I mean run all of Windows Updates.

              Security patches etc.

Yes, I had the same error happen to me a few times - once yesterday as a matter of fact. The page loaded, I saw the content, then one of those pop-up opt-in forms loaded and I immediately got the error you specify. So I closed the error windows, reloaded the page, and got in fine.

I'm using IE8, so it's not that. Unless there's something wrong with my installation.

I can't recall the circumstances of the earlier site blocks, but as a suggestion... maybe it has something to do with those new opt=in windows that people are using - that gray over the page content.

      Sylvia

PS: Oh, and on that particular page, I noticed in the bottom left of my browser window it shows that little message with the yellow triangle: Page loaded with errors.

See, this is what you get with Microsoft! Not only does their browser not support current standards, it's hooked into windows! I think it's time for all of the developers, designers, and marketers to push for their users to use Firefox/Safari/Opera.

At the least IE 6 needs to go away. IE6 Bugs, Problems, Fixes, Solutions, Tips & Tricks, Hints? NO MORE! .:. RIPIE6.com

As for the error, update windows, download firefox and forget about it!

While you might think this, it is not really a viable option. Like it or not, Microsoft has a huge market share and to be successful you cannot ignore Microsoft users.

As far as the error is concerned it is possible to write web pages that do not trigger it so you should do so and test your pages against IE/Firefox/Safari/Opera/Chrome - if it validates (w3.org validator is great) and works with all those it is likely to work with others.

I agree that we shouldn't limit the browsers that can view our pages especially IE.

As you said, The market share of people using it is just too big to ignore.
