affiliate programs for funeral home

my family owns and operates two funeral homes. our website has steady visitors and we plan to prioritize our online presence over the next couple months. our funeral home is doing some internet ads, facebook ads, billboards and might get some radio rotation if the package presented to our firm has value.

if all goes well, our funeral home would maybe generate more "at-need/pre-need" arrangements and our website traffic would spike. i was looking for a way to earn from the (hopefully) newly found traffic.

any ideas? think 'final expense' insurance affiliate programs? estate planning? idk where i would even begin to look into this. any help would be huge. thanks

When you say 'internet ads' - do you mean banner ads or search engine PPC?
If you are currently not doing any PPC campaigns, I would recommend it - it's pretty much the fastest way to gain relevant traffic.

I don't know much about this industry, but I'd say why not become a sleuth. Start really listening to the people who are saying goodbye to loved ones, etc. What do they always need? Ask for? What would be helpful from you that they don't think to ask for (but would never forget you if you did provide)?

Online, could you have a small cheat sheet or checklist on How to be prepared, Things they'll need to know (or some such)? After-the-funeral tips? Could keep it onsite, or downloadable, printable, or get an email address for your list. May be some affiliate opportunities there.

Could out-of-town visitors get a discount at the nearest hotel? Flowers, food? Affiliate programs for that?

Just to get some ideas flowing... Good luck!

The first place I would look would be the government body which regulates funeral homes where you are. You may find certain monetization methods off limits. Once you know the boundaries, then you can explore affiliate programs or joint ventures.

One thing to be very careful of, and I say this as someone who has had to help arrange funerals, you do not want to do anything that makes you look less professional. If I'm checking a website for a funeral plan, and it's plastered with affiliate banners, I'm going to keep looking.

Well, you could create content in your blog that focuses on specific products that are available at Amazon or other industries within the field.

For example, my father just passed away in May and I wanted a "custom" urn for him. The only place I was able to find what I needed was on the Perfect Memorials site. Now, they don't have an affiliate program, but it doesn't hurt to contact them and ask what they would consider for promoting their products.

So instead of having all kinds of affiliate links or banners everywhere, concentrate on the blog and creating content around a variety of items like memorial urns, jewelry for ashes; maybe connect with service providers who do memorial programs.

You can do an article about planning the memorial service and connect with food providers who may have affiliate programs.

I think I would concentrate on the cremation products though. It seems like more people are opting for cremation over burial due to the cost. I know when the cemetery gave us a quote for opening one of my father's plots, I was like WHAT????

So now we have three plots we can't sell!
