Using social bookmarking for profile URLs?

I had heard about social bookmarking before but for some reason didn't dare to touch it yet. I'm using Angelas and PJ's backlink packets and have been wondering if its ok to get my profile URLs with my backlinks indexed via this method. Because from what I can tell not all profiles get picked up and obviously one would want all of their backlink campaigns to count.

I'm not talking digg, delicious or the like here. I'm thinking of using jumptags. Is it ok or acceptable to share bookmark collections of my own profile URLs with this? We're talking lots of profiles here with backlinks to my homepage as well as its deeper pages and I'm afraid it would be considered shameless self-promotion (= spam) and hence cause a ban or something...

So does anyone here use jumptags to that kind of effect and how has the success been? Do people actual peruse these bookmark collections and may report self-promotion? Or is that what jumptags is actually for, mainly for the spiders to index your stuff?

I have used Jumptags to SB, but I don't think I've ever used for profile links from A's or P's link packets. Maybe you didn't know this, but Jumptags uses the "nofollow" tag now, so it might not do you any good even if you did SB your profile URLs.

You might try using reddit.com: what's new online! - still "dofollow."

Barnacles! I just checked and you're right - jumptags are nofollow. Reddit isn't a good idea because that's intended for news, articles etc. People will more than likely report you when they see submissions of profiles. But there's gotta be a viable alternative to jumptags where one can just publish their own bookmarks?

You can ping your profile pages. Or better yet, ping the profile page RSS feed. Not all bookmark site have this feature but some do.

Why would pinging the feed ensure that my profile URL gets picked up?
