Product release campaign - What am I doing wrong?

Hi all!

I am about to release a new product called Stweetward. Basically it's a pseudo bot for Twitter that will help the Community Managers to do some regular actions as liking tweets, favouriting them or following people.

So, what I did was to create a landing page Stweetward - Automatise the common Twitter actions explaining the product and containing a Sign Up form for a mailing list that I will use once the product is finished (right now it's at 90% done).

Then, I configured a very humble Google Adwords campaign in order to get traffic to my website and to begin to get the first emails.

Keywords I am using in the Google Adwords campaign are the following:
auto tweet app
twitter follow automation
twitter followers bot
twitter bot followers
twitter automation
auto retweet
auto followers twitter
twitter automation tools
auto followers
So my problem is that my conversion rate is about a 5% and I think it's too low. I think I am doing something wrong but I don't know what.

Some thoughts are:
  • It's an expensive service
  • Facebook ads would work better
  • Landing page it's not clear
  • The whole strategy is wrong

Can you let me know your opinion please?

Thanks in advance for the help

    Hi Nickhuizenga,

If you could be honest being nice it would be awesome

Being honest, I assume I am making errors and I appreciate you spend time helping me. So, just shoot as you think is the best.

    Thanks

Have you honestly validated that twitter users are willing to pay for premium automation tools?

If you can answer these questions through your copy.. you might see some improvement.

What's automation really mean to me? Don't tell me it's automation straight up front.. tell me the major benefit of automation.. and what it will mean to my business. Make me want the automation first..

What's 'an action'? Examples.. and why they should be automated..

I could go on.. but.. you get the idea.

    Hi Steve,

I didn't validate before. I am doing it right now with the landing page. Probably I did too much development before validating the idea...

Thank you very much. I get the point. That was very useful!

    CarlosReig,

The picture loads slowly and doesn't really tell me anything. Ditch that and replace it with an explainer video.

Once you have the video in place... move your opt-in form right next to it (right side). The video should force a response if the person is interested. Just don't make them scroll all the down to the bottom of the page to opt-in. Make it as easy as possible for them to get the information they want.

Expand your copy... tell the customer how it works and how it will make their life better. Don't just tell them features... and really get into the depth of what it means for them as a business owner (save time--> spend that time with family--> live a better life, etc.).

I could go on, but that should be enough for now.

    Good luck!

    nice looking site ...
just my thought, your conversion rate is not cause of price.
there's not about what in it for me ..yups..benefit.
i need automation cause i'm lazy, cause i'm busy and have no more time.
maybe you can add this on your page.
or you can research other big name who already use automation tool then you can borrowed that's name.
then most important thing that proof and testimonial from person who have use this tool
