What's your favorite ecourse/ebook on starting from scratch?

If you had knew someone that was just getting started in the business and didn't have the time to help them out yourself, what one product would you tell them to buy (or buy for them if you were really nice) to help them get a business up and going? A little info on why you think it's the ideal for a newbie would be great. If you know who developed the product, that would be great information as well.

    I would tell every newbie to be prepared to put in a lot of time and then consider the system I used. I bought my first eBook on how to write eBooks and then another one on how to generate traffic.

    I was a total newbie and ended up being blessed by tapping into a very hungry micro-niche audience. I didn't even know what a niche was! But I did have some experience as a writer.

    I made a lot of money be being at the right place at the right time! But even without that special blessing, I still think the strategies I followed were excellent for a beginner!

    By the way, I think newbies have a problem thinking there is one golden key to success out there and they just need to find it. The truth is that the golden key is within! It's focusing relentlessly and following the advice of people in the know. That's what I did. I did exactly what the eBook authors did. I also put in between 12-18 hours almost every day for several weeks.

    Also, you need to stick to one strategy at a time. It's so easy to loose focus in this business. So many people have great ideas about how to earn a living online. Many of those strategies are excellent, but as a newbie (I'm one) it's so easy to lose focus and try to do a thousand things at once.

    Now I try, very hard, to stick to one strategy and follow through with it. I'd give that advice to anyone asking for my advice.

    I would be inclined to try quite a few things in the beginning and see what sticks. Then once you know it's at least working... THEN stick to it and don't get sidetracked.

    No point sticking to something that has no chance in working.

    Thanks guys, now we're getting to what I was looking for. On the Corey Rudl course, I had a hard time figuring out exactly which product you were talking about. I thought the IMC website was a little bit confusing if you already knew you were looking for something in particular. What is the name of the course?

    On a side note, who is behind the IMC now? That was Corey's business before, right?

      The new guy is Derek Gehl. He was actually working with Corey and took over following Corey's tragic death. The first course I ever bought was, "Corey Rudl's Ultimate Seminar". I must say that it was worth every penny. Can't remember what I paid for it, or if they even still offer it, but the information is timeless.

    Hi,

    When I first started out I read Holly Mann's book which was actually pretty good at getting me up to speed.

    Now though if I had to recommend a book I'd probably say you can't go to far wrong with The Amazing Formula from Marlon Sanders.

    Also sign up for a few good lists like Paul Myers' list and check out The Bum Marketing Method by Travis Sago too.

    Depends what the want to do. Lately I'd go with material from Kevin Riley, Jimmy D brown, Ryan Diess, Bob Serling and Terry Dean.

    Marlon's stuff is always solid to.

      I created a DVD for my students that is only $97 and takes them for beginner to intermediate as fast or slowly as they like. I do it all with camtasia videos and workbooks and then back it up with a membership site and support.

      I have had a good success rate and some of my students are doing better than me now which is great.

      I send it out on a DVD so as to save their bandwidth and also makes it searchable.

        I thought Dotcomology was pretty good when I was first beigining! (Stone Evans) and I think its Derek Ghel with IMC now?
        Could be wrong though - anybody?

        Does your newbie have any direction at all?....or do they just want to work on their computer????

    It depends on what their skill set is, first I'd head over to the free ebooks section (http://www.warriorforum.com/make-money-online/) and look for an ebok that gives an overview of what IM is all about and have them read it and discuss it with them. I first got into IM with Bum Marketing, I found it to be very comprehensible and easy to plan out and follow through with. I've got a great Bum Marketing blueprint that's perfect for someone just getting their feet wet, if you're interested shoot me a PM.
