Thinking of emailing my affiliates to get top of mind

Last week I did another Clickbank ad campaign and got 70 affiliates to signup, but then crickets after that.

Nobody likes being hassled and I would rather not email any followup than a nag. But I was thinking of doing a one-liner that said "Hey Joe, Delta here. Just wanted to connect and see how you were doing. If you need a second set opinion on your copy or anything else I'm here to help."

Are these kinds of emails valuable at all for getting top of mind and opening a dialogue, or just another flavor of nuisance?

Getting emails from vendors is so rare for me that getting one like that would be a shock.

Since you do have a list of your affiliates, don't hesitate to send them emails. Let them know, in advance, when you have an event, like a flash sale, so they can get in on it. Notify them if and when you create more affiliate tools (banners, blog posts, embeddable videos, email series, etc.)

The only time I might see this kind of communication as a "hassle" would be if the tone shifted from wanting to help to, as you put it, nagging.

I agree totally with John, but just wanted to point out that the above is key.

Now, if you don't already have an event, or more affiliate tools, or anything else to help THEM...
      create something!!!

Create a new special offer (i.e. a sale, a discount coupon, or an new page with extra bonuses, etc.) that gives your affiliates an "edge" over your normal sales page... an extra benefit for their customers = more opportunity for increased sales to their lists.

      Then "announce" it to them.

Make it a limited time offer, and then get busy creating the next new product for them to promote.

Your affiliates don't make money by repeatedly sending the same offer to the same list. If you don't give them new reasons to promote your stuff - they will be promoting someone else's stuff.

John and Sid already mentioned most of what I was going to say, but the first thing that came to mind would be to offer a "Sales Contest" for the most affiliate sales for the month of September, or something like that.

Affiliates always want to make more money, and you should generate more sales as well.
