Screen Capture Video Software - Which is easiest ?

I am not good on tech stuff. I had a look at the camtasia studio site, and it looks a bit daunting , is it easier than it looks ? or is there a more simple solution an idiot like me can use ?

I use Jing Pro (also from TechSmith). It's very easy to use, even for us tech morons. The Pro version only costs about $15/year. It will output either MP4 or SWF videos. The only downside is that it limits you to 5 minutes per video. But I actually find that a good feature because I do a lot of tutorial "over the shoulder" videos and that imposed limit keeps me from rambling too much.

  Like any powerful software solution, there is a learning curve with Camtasia Studio. You can find lots of useful tutorials though. It really isn't that hard to get the hang of it.

I just bought Camtasia and am very happy.

For what I'm doing it's extremely easy. I'm just doing a simple video and saving it. I haven't done any editing and effects so perhaps that is more difficult but the basic use is very simple.

I use Camtasia v6 alot and yes, you are right at first it seemed like it would take me a while to learn it. But actually it's not bad at all but I am pretty technical. I've done alot of different things with it. The only issue is that it crashes every once in a while so be sure to set the auto-save to every minute or so.

For quick and dirty videos I sometimes use ScreenToaster which is a free online screen recorder.
