India vs Philippines for answering 100-300+ emails per day?

I have read that Filipinos are preferred when it comes to voice communication, but which of the two are more proficient at text communication with less grammatical errors etc?

Or even a second or third choice would be great as well?

Thanks!

All you have to do is look at the SEO sub-forum at 3 AM EST and you'll see how great India is with English. It looks like a pocket text.

You're obviously shopping for the lowest bidder so I doubt any of this really matters.

I have always received better results working with Indians, more so than people in the Philippines and Pakistan.

We currently have 5 VA's from the Philippines and they are great. We've had mixed results with Indian workers. I think it has more to do with more opportunity for Indians with better skills to do something better than being a VA. So try the Philippines first and then expand if you can't find anything.

I am also a virtual assistant provider from India (proVAdesk), my VAs are skilled and they are much better then the Philippines virtual assistant.
The basic difference between Indian VAs and Philippiness VAs is that, the Indian are more hard working and have many other skills rather then just being a VAs.
They can help you for anything, they are quick learner and can be available to do work anytime you need them. They don't care if it' 12'o Clock in the Night, they just want there client to sit relax.

In my view, it is not important that where the freelancer is? But it is too much important how the freelancer is expert? In a country there are many expert / inexpert people are available. So in the Philippine & India both kinds of people are living. you should check their previous work report & Feedback before hiring any one. Thanks for your excellency.

I am finding the hardest part being that they all say they are proficient in English yet 90% of them have multiple errors in their initial message = NEXT.

Are there certain certifications I can be looking for to weed through the masses?

    Thanks!

    • Windycityxx,

I've had better results since 2006 from hiring regular employees and independent subcontractors in the Philippines for tasks related to English communications (phone support, email and live chat support, content writing, forum posting, etc.), than from the results I got when I tested out hiring independent subcontractors in India for the same tasks ...

      BUT ...

Of course, I've also met independent subcontractors in India who are quite good, or at least at par, with the best ones I've hired in the Philippines for these tasks ...

I think the main thing there is the number of Filipinos who essentially have better skills and experience (through practice) in day to day conversational English, than the number of Indians with the same level of skills and experience ...

      AND ...

The pricepoint significantly affects the type of results you could get from hiring these workers -- Expect to pay more when you hire Filipinos and Indians with remarkable academic credentials, more proficient skills and longer experience doing these tasks for big corporations with strict hiring standards; and

Also expect to find more Filipinos than Indians with these characteristics ...

Start out with just the basic stuff -- Look at their relevant academic credentials and work experience; and

Take note of ones with relevant tertiary academic credentials at the top 3 universities in the Philippines and India ...

      AND ...

More importantly -- Take note of their relevant work experience. If they lasted say 3 to 5 years as an email support agent at a credible local or international company for a relatively big contract like Microsoft and (more recently) Spotify, then you'd probably get better results from hiring these workers ...

      BUT OF COURSE ...

They also expect to be trained (and motivated and paid) the same way their former employers trained them ...

I have had nothing but trouble hiring Indians. I will never hire anyone from India again after being scammed more than once. I have heard good things about Filipinos but I can't remember hiring one. Maybe I did on Fiverr but it's hard to recall.
